The NW Arete is awesome We did the same as you the last time I was there. Left the car early then soloed, summitted, and down soloed. Yep it's only 5.3-5.4 but the grade level doesn't drop much.

After injuring myself six years ago climbing dropped to near zero, but I'm on the way back. No desire for El Cap, but there are lots of cool peaks with rock climbing.

If we're just talking A1 of A2 I'll buy into fat aid climbers. Once you get to A4 light aid climbers get the edge when hanging from hooks.

Judging by the popularity of lift served downhill biking there are lots of DH MTN bikers lacking uphill juice.

I know work in progress. When I clicked on Bacon Peak in Washington State I got three TRs. The three are Bacon Rawk, rawk, Rawkz posted by Ivan. His TRs are about a climb/climbing in Oregon not Bacon Peak in WA.

I'm a little shocked no one has memorialized JP Patches yet. JP, or Chris Wedes, was way more influential to NW culture than Ichiro.
