  1. I have nothing to add, but I would like to post this picture. and this one
  2. Nice timing bringing this back on the day the FBI busts 6 ELF members.
  3. If you want to be held in awe by non climbers then by all means climb Rainier as many times as you can. If you want respect from other climbers climb Rainier a couple times and spend most of your time climbing smaller but steeper peaks.

Gary needs someone who can either understand and appreciate math or tell him to shut the fuck up and get on his knees and beg.
  5. More than you do.
  6. I want to know if a Mox hotflash is something that happens to Mike Layton after menopause?
  7. Pssst. Dru still doesn't have a drivers license.
  8. Actually they'll probably lose money. If the only way I can climb in an area is on a route selected for me by a guide then I'll take my money elsewhere. They'd be better off with moderate peak fees which you could obtain with the drop of a hat.
  9. I bet the administration has a definition of torture that most people wouldn't agree with.

She didn't like to practice multiplication?
  11. It depends on what the transition between layers is like, whether the new snow was windloaded, is the slope concave or convex, ect. We weren't skiing anywhere near the big R, but things seemed pretty stable.
  12. I'll eventually lose that one. I can only post between 6:30 to 7:30AM and after 4PM on average. Though I am coming up to the slow season for work, but skiing's good, and I've got a few home projects that wont get done in front of a computer.

Where do you come up with this crap? Anyone who does physical labor with the other sex knows this, especially in the realm of upper body strength. Women can do a pretty good job of making up for it by using lower body strength and mechanical advantage (or simply by being young), but it's a natural fact and no one is disputing it. Sure, there will always be exception, but yeah, men are bigger and have more muscle mass in general. I know at least 100 people that climb trees for a living. 3 of them are female, and none of those work in the comercial arboriculture where you are expected to work at a high level of production. As to the rest of the X Y thing I'd say that stereotypes are unfair to the individual, but they are worth considering when looking at large groups of people.

    I missed this thread
  15. Well it made me laugh and a few others too.
  16. There was an article in Outside on the subject of blacks in the outdoors back a couple years ago. The thesis was that it's not just economics that hold blacks back from outdoor sports/hobbies. The article was written by a black dude into outdoor activities.
  17. Shhh. It's a secret.
  18. Anual traditions...eh Rudy. Rip it up dude.
  19. Rudy, Rudy, Rudy. If you would just live in harmony with nature there would be so much less angst in your life.
  20. Why is it we're not allowed to return you the favor.
  21. Volcanoes are big and stupid. It's ok to climb something big and stupid every once and a while, but there's so much more out there...
  22. I'd recommend a trip to Rogers Pass.
  23. damn, I almost wish I had a TV.
  24. How long have you been working at your current employment? If you've got a long reliable track record and you're company isn't facing a deadline then it's a lot easier. I'd fire you so you have lots of time to ski.
