What's actually going on over there? I found this in the Seattle Times. It doesn't seem very positive. All I have to say is Big Ron rules. Of course one would have to know a Tippy Turtle to know what I'm talking about.

Goats rule for land cleanup. The city of Seattle needs goats all over the hillsides on Beacon Hill above I-5. There are a bunch of other places where they're needed around Seattle. BTW I am not joking about this. The city needs some cleanup.

I'm talking Totems not these upcomers the Thunderbirds.

Baseball rules I used to be way in to hockey in Seattle, but I lost interest when Seattle lost the I don't even know if the Central League is still around anywhere.

Learning technical skills is a good thing when you're just starting to climb. After that I would say just go climbing on your own. First pick some easy goals then up the pace. If you feel like your still missing something then maybe sign up for a short course in the subject or do some more reading. The whole concept of expedition training is beyond me, and I've seen folks who were being guided on Denali and Everest. All I can say is you better work hard at saving money if you want to be guided in the Himalayas. If I were to make a plug for a buddy I'd say sign up for a course with Mountain Madness

I used to be near the top, but I'm starting to loose ground.

Yeah, I'm curious about this Himalayan seminar on top of Rainier. I don't think the top of Rainier is high enough.

I'm very disappointed I thought this was about baseball and Fairweathers love of Boston

My first winter in CO I was all psyched on early season skiing. I went up to Keystone the first week it was open. Right then the ski area consisted of one open run with snow on it due to man made snow. At the time there were ski patrollers at every corner of the run telling the hoards to slow down. I think I did two runs and decided that it was bullshit and went back to Boulder.

Hmmm. I've thought about walrus hunting for years, but I never felt properly equipped.

I thought about skiing today, but with the rise in freezing levels I figured it was better to start the indoor rock climbing season. Skiing is going to rock, and it's very close.
-
Yo. Check out my sweet new skis. All I need to do is get a couple toe pieces and some skins and these babies are ready to rock. They've got a crazy way of attaching skins to them too. They're a bit old, but it's a sign that the Norwegians figured out a long time ago that tele skis were only an adaption of skis made for cross country, jumping, or biathlon and if your really wanted to go downhill skiing you needed an AT setup.

No doubt. Too many hamsters fluff Pepper Sisters but turn their noses up to good mexican. My favorite taco truck ever used to park way out on the Guide. That shiznit was the best, especially la salsa verde muy caliente. No doubt. Some of the best mexican food I've had in the recent past comes from trucks parked at a gas stations around Seattle. I've also found some great trucks down towards Smith, and a few other places. If I remember right there's a good one on the side of I-5 at the exit for HWY 20 right next to a McDonalds. I'd love to hear about the good ones in the Ham. Taco Time. and you can keep your fancy mexican restaurants with the high prices too. I just found a new one today down near Stone Gardens.

Dude, I've worked outdoors in the rain for 18 years. I'll be on 19 this winter.

This is all nice, but what about Taco Trucks

My fireplace is an insert. The brand name is Ashley and it came with the house when I bought it. The fuel comes from killing a bunch of city trees.

Get your crybaby routine out of freshiez and back to spray.

I don't care. I've got a shed full of firewood I made myself.

I lived in Ballard at the tail end of it's heyday. When I was there there were lots of Norwegians, fishermen, and bums. There were still lots of cool run down bars. Sadly things ain't what they used to be.

I've only got the Volken Snoqualmie pass guide for skiing in the Cascades. Everything else I've done is from looking at the Beckey guide or talking to people. If you don't mind a bit more driving get; Exploring the Coast Mountains on Skis by John Baldwin. I've put together some nutty tours with that book.

Another vote for skis. Get a pair of AT skies too then you can spend your free time on the board making fun of those tele/snowboard freaks. Seriously any type of skis are better than snowshoes.
-
Well these days for me that would be a case of North America beer.

The first response to my very first post looking for bc skiing partners was from Alex (back then there was no such thing as a Spray forum) Now we're both moderators on this board, and Alex even hired me to cut down a tree for him. Nice You Tube video Blake.
