Hustler is more attuned to the climber image.

I thought it was because the stand at the top made a mean bean curd bento.

Seems you are guilty of your own judgments that you take as proof, no? The organizational center has been wiped? I've seen no irrefutable evidence of this. On the contrary, I've read news accounts that indicate its just moved its base of operations. Scattered maybe, wiped no. You are a master of obfuscation mtngoat. But I enjoy the repartee going on. Makes people think and thats always a good thing.

[/QB] Got a citation for this? I heard speculation that they do but in fact was found through anecdotal testing to be incorrect. They operate on different frequencies. The batteries, if my memory serves, were a potential source for problem. I'd be interested in learning more about the subject though. I don't use my cell phone in the BC unless its an emergency. I've called my wife from the summit of Mt. Hood but that could hardly be characterized as "the backcountry."

Paul declined due to concerns over his license to land on the glacier.

I've got one of the north face synthetic fill jackets and like it ok. I got it specifically because it will retain its warmth when wet and so far it has. The down is more comfy though. I really wish I had the ducats for one of them there Wild Things belay jacket.

"pretty true/hard/sandbagged for their grade". . . Say what? They seem pretty spot on to me but I'm no pro. I'm more at home on the snow and just an aspiring rock jock. For a real thrill I recommend doing Free for All (5.8) but doing the right hand variation. Getting to the top of the pillar is, um, inspiring. I got the brown point on that one. -

You would not have much fun with a belay slave at Beacon if they are unwilling to get off the ground. Lots of multi-pitch fun to be had in the moderates and the spraymaster levels. I'll never forget the time I was thrutching up the SE corner as a friend soloed past me on Jills Thrill with a haul bag full of beer for the soiree on the ledge. -

I might be at Beacon on Saturday as well. -
Invoking your 5th amendment right is one way of doing it. Simply put, the prosecutor has the burden of proof to show that you did not have the required permit. If he, or the judge, asks if you would like to testify you simply decline. If pressed, then invoke your 5th amendment rights. No defendant in any criminal proceeding is required to testify and oftentimes are counseled against it. If you are representing yourself in a case like this be careful to just ask questions and not provide testimony. In this particular case (see http://www.nepfa.org/TTcase.html) even the judge admonished the guy that he had no compulsion to testify but when he did, he admitted guilt. This is great stuff to learn in my opinion!

That DOES look nice. . .I think I need a tissue. Is the road clear that time of year?

Thats what I meant by "packing" a lunch.

Has anyone else noticed a striking number of sexually-related posts coming from thelawgoddess on here? Greg, don't you have an appointment with the uber-vixen today? Better pack a lunch.

Friend of mine used to brag about what killer gas mileage he got from his Subaru as compared to my 4runner. The guy monitored his gas usage like a nasa scientist. Anyhow, I soon learned he hid a spare key in the normal place in case he lost his keys whilst out climbing. Well, lets just say that he started getting REALLY good gas mileage, like hybrid style, before he suddenly started getting REALLY crappy mileage. Then, as suddenly as it started, it stopped. Drove him crazy.

Yes it's the Cascades, yes, it was an alpine adventure, the whole package was kinda cool, yes I'm glad I did it, but I'm of the opinion that there are much better climbs out there. Like the Tooth, Cavey's favorite.[/QB] You've never climbed alpine "rock" in Oregon have you? You'll note that no where did I say there was no better climbs out there, just that I enjoyed this one. Hell, I plan on doing it again someday. Of course, YMMV.

They don't make diapers big enough for this route. I think I'll just leave that half-moon unzipped for full exposure and release. Praying for lots of snow and very cold weather.
