  1. We will all be lycra-clad, tape-following, goby-flapping gym climbers by then anyways.
  2. The years not quite over with yet and I am hoping to add to this list but so far the highlights include: 1. West Ridge of Prussik car-to-car in a day with Old Man Winter; 2. Zebra/Zion--the feel of bird guano sqeezing between my fingers will forever haunt me; 3. Pushing my trad leading skills; 4. Getting more comfortable solo aiding; 5. leading (and falling) on my first ice lead. Biggest disappointments: Bailing off Liberty Crack in the rain after soloing the first pitch as my partner went back to the car to get the harness and shoes he forgot; Bailing off Yocum in bad weather after nearly cresting the first gendarme (smart decision but still frustrating); Landing on SW fork of Kahiltna with the intention of climbing the SE Ridge of Foraker, watching the hanging glacier spit chunks down the ridge and feeling my sphincter simultaneously close. Head to the West Ridge of Hunter and bailing from that due to sick soft snow conditions. All in all a total bust. But I'm alive. Not the best year climbing for several reasons but 2003 will be better.
  3. Dru-- Searched all over that site and didn't see anything but exploding whale. You sure you inserted the right link?

  6. Its been pretty damn warm here lately Wayne. Unless we see a cold snap soon I wouldn't be too hopeful for much ice.
  7. I hear ya. We're heading to Whistler for turkey day.
  8. Is that this guys backyard?
  9. Rain in lower elevations (usually) = snow in higher elevations. Let it rain baby, let it rain!
  10. Note to self: decline all invitations to hot tub parties at gapertimmys.
  11. He didn't say "ice" tool Iain.

  14. I knew as soon as I posted that it would get me in trouble. Its ok though. I'm married. To a woman. I'm not gay, really. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  15. Looks like he's sporting wood. Must be some ride he's got going on there.
  16. I thought it was how we promoted our economy.
  17. I bought a set of glacier glasses from REI ($16) took them to my optometrist, told her what I wanted to use them for, she made lenses (~$50) You do the math. Used them extensively and can still see. Contacts are still my fav though. Its not that big a deal.

When REI starts selling cell phone face plates in various colors I will return to shopping there. Whats a fella to do when he's trying to accessorize his cobalt parka before sojourning to the wild hinterlands of the Tooth? I mean, yeah they got the keychain thing going ON but like, when I pull out my cell to check the status of my Qualcomm stock I don't EVEN wanna clash. Thats so like, ghetto. Vive la difference!

I am sure it does his "soul" good to know you care about his "sole". Spelling flame with two spelling errors (we'll assume for the sake of argument that "cus" is slang). Put the pipe down, its Miller time!

  24. I feel your pain. At one point on the descent I fell over because I thought I was going forward when in fact I was actually going backward. Tres weird. Several times I thought I was still moving then would look down and see I was in the same spot. Thats what I get for getting froggy to go skiing.
