  1. Its not illegal for Americans to travel to Cuba under certain circumstances. Be that as it may, though, what other country is it illegal for Americans to travel to?
  2. Topsiders? Puhlease!
  3. Post of the day! You sir, are a poet. Pine Fuzz indeed!

  6. Wow--fantastic trip! i would love to hit up the waddington range but i doubt I will kayak in for it.
  7. You have to be careful buying Dana packs--they are being made outside of the US now.
  8. I imagine Boner would since Freddie has been dead for quite some time now and, presumably, lost a lot of mass.

    Debt Cut

You can't offend me Jay--I respect your opinion even if we may differ. I was just offering a different data point in contradiction to your thesis. Prior to going to college (and immediately after getting out of the Army) I worked side by side with a guy who had a degree in Finance. We did the same job (not even remotely related to finance) yet he felt he should get paid more, solely due to his degree. Fortunately our employer disagreed with him and compensation was based on performance.
  10. oh yeah--and if you are on snowshoes, please for the love of god, do not walk on the ski track if one is already there. Thanks
  11. Tons of stuff off of hwy 35.

I think its more about protectionism (jobs, not consumers)

    Debt Cut

Hmmm. . I am the latter. I have a BS in Political Science. If you truly think it has "no objective value whatsoever" then we are in disagreement. The critical thinking, writing and research skills I developed in obtaining that degree have served me well in my career. On the other hand, I didn't take out an ARM to shoehorn myself into a home I couldn't afford. Perhaps that balances out my retarded-ness. I agree with Prole with respect to education and a functioning democracy. I disagree with the position that he shouldn't have to re-pay his loans. When one signs their name on a contract they have a moral obligation to fulfill the terms (be they borrower or lender). Personal responsibility and social responsibility can co-exist. There are fields in which one has to obtain "credentials"--e.g. doctor, lawyer, accountant, teacher. Are you arguing that you should be forced to be credentialed to flip burgers?
  14. I thought this was another Bush thread.
  15. Seriously? That would make a horrible mess. I did not post my question in spray because it's a serious question, jackass. Astroglide is water-soluble. Get it on, then wash it off. Done.

    Buckethead

I saw buckethead about a year ago. It was a good show. Its just him, a guitar and an ipod though.
  17. He will be missed. I caught that about Hillary as well.

  20. Or rap from the top of the second pitch. The top-out at crown point isn't really worth the effort. I second Winter's comment on Hamilton.

    Afghanistan

I recommend "Ghost Wars" for an in-depth look at the modern history of Afghanistan. Fascinating book.
  22. That sounded like fun! Nice pics and thanks for the TR
  23. I used a pair of Makalus in Ecuador. In Bolivia and Peru, I used Salomon boots. You don't "need" plastics in Ecuador, especially given your emphasis on easy or moderate climbs. I'd get a good pair of lightweight mountaineering boots that would double as trekking boots and call it good.
  24. Can someone translate pc313's posts into English please?
  25. Oden had an injury. Marbury's a pussy.
