  3. He may be entitled to Social Security survivors benefits. If he was in Oregon I might be able to hook him up with some help. Are there no Washington attorneys here with connections to child advocacy sources? Try the Court Appointed Special Advocates program. At 16 he may be able to get emancipated and if he can qualify for survivors benefits if might go far in helping him land on his feet. I'd open my home to him but I am in Portland. If he needs to get away from the great white north for a while bring him on down here and Ivan can test out his parenting skills.
  4. Did you do her? Great TR
  5. Some say this was the dirtiest line ever spoke on television. Little do they know, however, that shorly after uttering this fabled sentence, Ward Cleaver lost his job and became mired in depression. Turning to the bottle, he sought solace in the rear portals of his offspring. Therefore, the truly nastiest line spoken on TV was when June asked Ward if he wanted to go to the store with her amd he replied, "No honey, I'm gonna stay home and pack some fudge with the kids"
  6. Lots of climbing in Hells Canyon.
  7. Cooper Spur would NOT be a fun descent right now. There simply isn't enough snow cover. You'd either have to do a lot of chossy downclimbing or rap it. Sunshine was the descent we did two weeks and wasn't much fun either--lots of downclimbing and traversing but the ice was bomber. Like shred said, a bit more snow cover than we had. Too bad the weather is crapping out. I'd like to do that route again.
  8. Anyone got some lockdowns they wanna part with?
  9. Never skied or climbed Mt. St. Helens then. They sled right to the crater rim.
  10. Why are bolts considered a blight and pin scars considered bold climbing?

    Chair Peak

I did Chair in December a few years ago in mixed conditions. Aside from the spindrift roaring down on the first pitch and the idiots pounding pins ahead of us it went well. Not much real ice over most of it but a worthy endeavor anyway. Sounds like conditions will be similar this weekend. Have fun

    CC.Com Personals

MWM seeks bi-curious ambulatory amputee for erotic gymnastics as my dog watches (but does not participate). Teeth are optional and preferably absent. Gangrene considered a plus. Please forward detailed photos of scars to IEATFLESH@AOL.COM Age and marital status unimportant.
  13. There was a recent article in Harpers magazine that cited a survey which indicated that about 75% of Americans trust the military. The percentage drops some for those under 30 but overall Americans show a greater trust for the military then they do the President. Go figure.
  14. I think the rise in people climbing trad at Smith has more to do with Mazama classes and/or guided groups than anything else. I can remember climbing at Smith before you had to pay to park. Back when you could see someoen climbing Light on the Path from the campground, in the dark, because of the neon lycra tights. Those were the days.
  15. Its Roberto you tool
  16. Re-read the initial post. You'll note the past tense. I do not now, nor have I ever, seen any threat to US sovereignty coming from the middle east. We endured a terrorist attack but how you can infer from that domination by terrorists is indeed an exercise in creativity.
  17. I think he means the cakes in the bottom of urinals.
  18. I was told six weeks of limited activity, stretching and then back to normal. I'm waiting until after my ice climbing trip to the Tatras over xmas before letting him cut though.
  19. I saw some brand new snowshoes at an Eddie Bauer outlet store for 99 clams
  20. I'm 37 and my generation has been involved in wars in Panama, Grenada, Somalia, Bosnia and the Gulf. Before that was Vietnam and Korea. My grandfather served in WWII and my father in Korea. I was in the Army from '84-'88. My brother was killed while serving in the Army in Korea. My thanks and admiration goes out to those who made the sacrifice to serve their country and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in losing their lives while serving.
  21. Just found out I have a SLAP tear in my shoulder that will require surgical repair. Hopefully this will take care fo the chronic shoulder pain I have experienced for years. MRI showed the tear, as well as the fact that I had dislocated it previously. Huh huh I said chronic. Hope the chiro treatments work for ya carolyn.
