Does anyone know these guys or know the real story? There news seems to be operating on bits of hearsay and not many facts. I saw a comment on cbc.ca from their friend saying these guys were fine when they were "rescued", all 4 were skiers and adults, had avy gear and were experienced, and didn't ask for a rescue. Maybe this explains their unwillingness to cooperate with authorities. Getting banned from every area in BC for life seems kind of harsh. When do people just start letting natural selection take control of stuff like this?

We had a meeting yesterday and have fleshed out some of the details of the wiki and agreed upon some of the basic functionality and how it will integrate with the message board, the trip reports, and the photos. We'll be starting development on it in the next week. We still have a number of questions, for instance what kind of hierarchy should be used to organize and categorize this information. If there are any individuals that would like to help provide some input and this project moves along please send me a PM and I will invite you in to a private forum.

[TR] Hemlock Valley :: Flake Crushing - In the Trees 12/26/2008
jon replied to jon's topic in British Columbia/Canada
Yeah we had a time constriction so it really limited our options. I'm just learning what winter options are available within an hour of Abby. -
Trip: Hemlock Valley :: Flake Crushing - In the Trees Date: 12/26/2008 Trip Report: My buddy Erik and I did a short tour next to the Hemlock Valley "Resort" trying to get some freshies. The lack of a large base made the tour up a bit difficult as a number of shrubs and small trees were still exposed. I would wait for another meter of snow before attempting something in this area. That said the snow was fantastic and we did a quick yo yo to get a few extra turns in.

I've already started a thread for this topic. http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/856622

Hi Folks, In a different thread there has been a request for a cc.com route wiki. Funny thing is we already have something on the planning table. I was hoping to get some input on what you would like to see in a route wiki or database application. What kind of structure would you like, alphabetical, map based? Ideally how would you like photo handled? Should we make it permission based so that only people who have approval to edit it are allowed? Give us your thoughts.

Folks, this wiki is something already in the works. We have a meeting about it tomorrow. I suspect in the next few days I will be able to offer more details.

What on earth are you talking about?

Optimism springs eternal. People's inability to see reality and accept it is why we are here today, and why we are only half way there.

We are donating a ton of stuff for this, should be some good prizes. Any competitor who wears a cc.com shirt in the final I will donate $25 to Northwest Harvest, up to $200. Northwest Harvest can feed a family of 3 a meal for $0.63, that's 120 meals for those who are suffering more then your 401k right now. Send me a PM if you don't have a shirt and I will tell you how to get one.

I've seen more Confederate Flags and Monster Trucks in the Fraser Valley in the last year then I've seen in my entire life.

Ideally I'd like to find some Freerides, but I will compromise for something lighter. Need size M w/ brakes. TIA

Peeps, go spend time with your families and give it up. Take some warm food and some extra warm clothes to a homeless person in your area.

There was a good thread here quite a long time ago about how accidents or close calls effect your climbing. It was pretty soon after I watched one of my friends take a 50+ foot groundfall and almost die. Both Wayne and Dru have had some big close calls from what I remember. I'll see if I can dig up the thread.

Usually not a problem. If you are in the Seattle area World Cup Ski Service in Bellevue are the best around.

Stop spraying in the partners forum.

Just a little update here. I need to check to make sure that it's not something that is in our code, which is possible because it started around the time of our upgrade. The actual code for the profile popup is at the bottom of the page, so that could be it. I still think it's a problem with the google ads as, at least for me, only happens when a broken ad is served, which for whatever reason is regrettably happening a lot. Anyways, we do apologize that this is happening and we'll try to figure it out!
-
Did it happen the same time we added the new features (10/30), or after that? Just trying to nail down if it has something to do with that or something else. I might try getting rid of the ads for a bit to see if that is the problem. We'll get it figured out.

If you don't screw with the mouse does it pop back up to the top after the page is done loading?

Does the user have any TRs when this happens?
