  1. Is the context here "we know that if Obama gets elected there will be another terrorist attack to test his mettle"? Or is it "because of the state of world affairs at the moment within six months there will be something coming to a head such that it'll test the mettle of the new administration"?
  2. 660,000 troops killed in an unnecessary war--along with an unknown number of southern civilians. Cities burned to the ground by a marauding general. Habeas Corpus suspended. Newspapers closed at gunpoint. Editors arrested. Slavery abolished? Yea right--in all but 4 northern states. Federal troops massacring civilians by the hundreds on the streets of New York. And even through all of this...still time for his troops to annihilate native Americans out west. This makes the top five in your wealth of ignorant statements. Which points do you contest? Remember your context; that these things which happened at that point in history were Lincoln's fault because of his inexperience. And oh by the way, have you a response for the unnecessary war comparison between Bush and Lincoln? You seemed to imply that Lincoln got us into an unnecessary war and that was a bad thing, but somehow still believe that the War Bush got us into was necessary, but even if it wasn't it's still not bad?
  3. PORTER! BAN OR BITCH SLAP THIS USER!!!!
  4. So, its ok for George Bush (you've said you are a supporter of him) to send our troops into an unnessecary war, suspend basic civil rights, etc. Lincoln didn't really start the civil war did he? If my history is correct, the confederacy was in place by the time he was elected. Confederate troops troops fired upon and took hostages at Fort Sumter. Did Lincoln and his policies directly effect the transgressions for which you accuse? Fact is the war was well on its way to being over when he was assassinated.
  5. why don't you edit that post Hugh.
  6. Uh, ok other than the unfortunate end to Lincoln's Presidency, can you tell me "what happened"?
  7. WTF, I thought Liberals were the only perpetrators of voter fraud. At least thats what I began to think after I stopped by a republican booth at a community fair and drank some yummy kool aid.
  8. Ted Kaczinski blew a bunch of shit up too.
  9. So FW, where do you believe that Federal Taxes should end and where the States and citizens should begin toeing the line? Straight answers only please.
  10. Yea, but Lincoln was a Republican so he didn't need experience. He believed in God and was patriotic and stuff.
  11. Wow, so Obama is a) Muslim; b) An Arab; c) A Cult of Personality. So, this thing has gotten so far out of hand that all that is left is to put together semi-entertaining videos that perpetuate a stereotype about charismatic people? How about coming up with a good plan to get the fucking country out of debt? Although a bit more complicated than editing video montages, I'm sure someone right of center can do it, can't they? Ya sure, ya betcha, ;-)
  12. I'm with you on this one. I had given McCain serious consideration given his record. However, I believe he sold too much of his independant soul for his parties nomination. I could see him moving (further) to the center in an effort to improve his chances. However, there seems to be a dim-bulb right wing extremeist on the ticket that would continue to negate that. As far as Obama goes; he took on the Democratic Party establishment and beat them. He may be just like all politicians in that what we are hearing will be different than what we see, but after this last eight years I'm just ready for a change in scenery. Hell to that end, I may be voting for Rossi or abstaining in the Washington Gubenatorial race.
  13. So delivering the message (package of lies) on behalf of the administration makes Gen. Powell a liar? Where's the link Peter?
  14. jeezus jake! my impacted sinuses are now cleaned out thank to the 7-up that just passed through them!

    Democrat Has Affair

I call bullshit. Republicans have a trademark on the Family Values platform. I'm pretty sure that the Dems run on the "I'll fuck anything of legal age" platform.
  16. Wow FW, what a gotcha! I suppose Biden's political slips are the cause for Palin being a fringe right-wing fucking loon? Who is our third choice here anyway?
  17. true dat. nothing to see here folks, move along.
  18. She will make a great VP!

    The Debate

Overall, it seems that the campaign did a good job preparing Palin for this debate. Not that she had a lot in the way of substance, it was much the same as Friday night; campaign slogans an quoting meaningless statistics. She did however come off as pretty poised and held her own. She and Biden were very respectful of each other and neither seemed overly antagonistic. They seemed to out of their way to agree with eachother an awful lot; and obvious strategy to appeal to the middle. When she rebuked Biden about looking to much to the past he could have easily gone off on how the Republican ideology got us into this mess and as the current standard bearers (as much as that standard is hidden in a trojan horse) that she and McCain do represent the status quo. Overall, I don't think either side expected to win; it sure looked like another draw to me.
  21. Funny, I got n e-mail from my brother in Texas saying essentially the same thing, only it was Obama dumping Biden in favor of Hillary Clinton.

    The Debate

get real. The further to the left or right you are stuck, the greater the perception that "your" guy won. Neither candidate took a significant blow in last nights debate. The post debate rhetoric seems to be largely ignoring the fact checking that gives a clearer picture on whos campaign has a better grasp on things.

    The Debate

George Will just gave his opinion that Obama did a better job and was the probable winner.

    The Debate

gotta say, McCain did better in form and substance.
