  1. This is what I keep trying to tell you. They just breed us more aggro in Colorado, it's not my fault. Agrro, except for that den of inequity Boulder...peaceniks!
  2. Kurt don't look so stoked the next time you get your picture taken. And what's up with that slow ass webserver!
  3. You guys sound angry. You need to tone down this rhetoric and learn to love each other. Be of the earth...hug some saplings...
  4. Yep I agree. I always like Alex's trip reports.
  5. You know who I miss? Retrosauraus. Where the hell is that guy? And ZDFG...miss you too.
  6. Dang, just logging on the CC.com just now was the funniest shit I've seen in a long time! Go Ray!
  7. Banff is the VD capital of Canada. Dress accordingly.
  8. Actually I think Troy lives closer to Weigele land doesn't he? Copious snowfall there. Not the eastern Rockies type which has been known from time to time to periodically resemble maritime snow levels. Oh well I'm not going to ski Buckner so what do I care. Bored....
  9. Her dog is a mutt, but a pretty one. Yeah, the beacon body recovery tool is a handy one. I had my cellphone, but probably didn't have any service.
  10. Speaking of other close calls I fell headfirst into a camoflouged tree well about 2 weeks ago. The things I thought about as the snow started caving in around me were: 1. That poor kid who died at Alpental 2. Damn this suffocation feeling seems familiar! 3. I'm not wearing any underwear the coroner is going to see my johnson.4. How ironic.5. Stay calm. It took me about 20+ minutes to get out of that hole and the only thing that saved my ass was a pine bough that was near my face where I could duck my head around behind it and get an airspace. Don't ski out of bounds alone! a few weeks ago a friend of mine Leah, was buried by a slide while snowshoing alone in the Gold Creek Valley. Her dog saved her life by digging her out. The slide initiated somewhere above her and like so many slides in this area was not caused by the person caught in it.
  11. I find that placing my dirty underwear at the top of my baggage expedites the search procedure quite nicely.
  12. Phil, that so called Grade 4 or 5 ice flow is about the same angle as the right side of the canmore junkyards which we use to practice one tool french technique on. If you took a picture looking up a grade 5 all you would see is about the first 30 feet of the first tier. You need to buy a new tomtom. Your old one is getting worn.
  13. I'm really more into fire than beer that's why I climb at Stoner Gardens when I'm in the burbs
  14. AllYouCanEat, Thanks for the reply. No, I know several people who skied those couloirs (nice job by the way), but I've never spoken with anyone that has skied the east face. The exposed one that you look down from the little 2nd class scramble at the summit. It's only a really nice looking line when it's loaded up and looking fat, but the downside is that I think it would be hard to find it in suitable skiing conditions with a lot of X factors (mainly avalanche and rock close to the snow surface). I'm not saying I am going to be the one to do it, but I've thought about it a few times. Thinking about it and getting the chutpah to actually do it are of course two different things entirely.

    Jumbo Go Away!

Man Greg you walked right into that one
  16. What kind of flimsy Rando gear are you on Jens? The newer stuff is pretty beefy. And since we're on the topic has anyone ever skied/boarded the east face of Mclellans Butte? [ 02-19-2002: Message edited by: mikeadam ]
  17. wet and sloppy isn't good snow? Wait you're right...I prefer trap crust!
  18. Matt, is there anything you haven't done? I bet you never climbed Maple Pro...

    Jumbo Go Away!

Pope, you are missing out on something called "tele chix". You gotta get one. The ski bunny thing is fine for lounging around the lodge, but when you wanna get some lovin' in the backcountry a "tele chick" can't be matched. It's all about rolling with the seasons. Jumbo Go Away!

I don't understand how in the middle of February you can begin to imply that the ski season is anywhere near to being over. You gotta get off that crack habit and get addicted to year round powder and corn. I saw some alpine trekkers for sale somewhere brother...but what do I know? I'm in the Fontainbleu of the US right now....ahhh sandstone is gut ja? [ 02-19-2002: Message edited by: mikeadam ]

    iCe!

Exactly, this year that thing is crying to be hucked on skis. The snow is piled all the way up to the exit at the top of the pitch. DBB, yeah we were sort of foolish to be there in a major snowstorm, but it made for a good tale afterwards.
