  1. Phil, that so called Grade 4 or 5 ice flow is about the same angle as the right side of the canmore junkyards which we use to practice one tool french technique on. If you took a picture looking up a grade 5 all you would see is about the first 30 feet of the first tier. You need to buy a new tomtom. Your old one is getting worn.
  2. I'm really more into fire than beer that's why I climb at Stoner Gardens when I'm in the burbs
  3. AllYouCanEat, Thanks for the reply. No, I know several people who skied those couloirs (nice job by the way), but I've never spoken with anyone that has skied the east face. The exposed one that you look down from the little 2nd class scramble at the summit. It's only a really nice looking line when it's loaded up and looking fat, but the downside is that I think it would be hard to find it in suitable skiing conditions with a lot of X factors (mainly avalanche and rock close to the snow surface). I'm not saying I am going to be the one to do it, but I've thought about it a few times. Thinking about it and getting the chutpah to actually do it are of course two different things entirely.

    Jumbo Go Away!

Man Greg you walked right into that one
  5. What kind of flimsy Rando gear are you on Jens? The newer stuff is pretty beefy. And since we're on the topic has anyone ever skied/boarded the east face of Mclellans Butte? [ 02-19-2002: Message edited by: mikeadam ]

Pope, you are missing out on something called "tele chix". You gotta get one. The ski bunny thing is fine for lounging around the lodge, but when you wanna get some lovin' in the backcountry a "tele chick" can't be matched. It's all about rolling with the seasons. Jumbo Go Away!

I don't understand how in the middle of February you can begin to imply that the ski season is anywhere near to being over. You gotta get off that crack habit and get addicted to year round powder and corn. I saw some alpine trekkers for sale somewhere brother...but what do I know? I'm in the Fontainbleu of the US right now....ahhh sandstone is gut ja? [ 02-19-2002: Message edited by: mikeadam ]

  12. Was it a route on Longs peak?

    iCe!

Exactly, this year that thing is crying to be hucked on skis. The snow is piled all the way up to the exit at the top of the pitch. DBB, yeah we were sort of foolish to be there in a major snowstorm, but it made for a good tale afterwards.
  14. You're right dude, that was oughtta line. Beers on me when I head your way.
  15. And being a climbing bum makes you such a military expert why? [ 02-17-2002: Message edited by: mikeadam ]
  16. Actually LMFAO translated means "wydrav13 is a fucking unemployed poverty stricken queer".

    iCe!

That climb forms better (more exposed ice) in low snow years and sits at the bottom of a long slide path. The belayers stance is in a terrain trap.
  18. LMFAO! Good one Caveman!
  19. There ain't no free rides around here sweetie. One of these silent lurking types will probably IM you-be all nice, tell you about how great he is and how many places he's been. Then he'll sketch up some 5.6 and wanna get in your pants. Have fun....join the mountaineers...I heard their hiring gumbies.
  20. BRUTAL!!
  21. I think you misunderstood what K was saying brah. AK LAUNCHER = K2 ski's. We are actually supplied by the American Gov. We'll hook you up with a shiny M-4 and if you're really lucky you can have a bayonet and some Meals Rarely Eaten.
  22. Yeah, leave your gat at the crib homie. We'll supply you when you get here.
  23. Max, I don't think anyone here is expressing insecurities. What we are expressing is DISDAIN & CONTEMPT. DISDAIN FOR THE LIKES OF YOU, CONTEMPT FOR THE "COMMUNITY" IN GENERAL.
  24. And who would that be Dave?
