  1. No shits given, sorry. Fuckin' scum bags come murder our people by the thousands, and you think our boys shouldn't do whatever they can do to get whatever information from these pieces of shit as possible? Public policy: no torture Real life for the men on the ground: do what needs be done, boys
  2. From the twelve posts you get every day? I doubt that's an average.. sometimes the classifieds goes a couple days without a single post Regardless, it's the rule... if they can make it so they don't even have to enforce it, that's cool.
  3. Did the story actually end at attaining the summit ridge, or am I missing something?
  4. Yup.. It's a rule. Don't be a rule breaker, now.... rules are important!
  5. Is it a Sumtec, Raven, Viper, X-Class, or Alpax Special, it's mine. Please PM for my address
  6. When ALL you have is a hammer, specifically. As to using the scope as your bino..... NO GO. I'd be really surprised if there's still any professionals out there teaching that BS. You don't point your weapon at anything you're not will, and probably about to, destroy, "sniper" or not. I get pretty dark when I see hunters out walking around clear cuts with scopes on their rifles and no binos hanging from their neck.
  7. Here's what's up with your harness: The loop is probably no less safe, looking like that, than it was the day you walked out of REI with it. But where do we draw the line? Visible fraying on nylon products is a good place to do it. Your call, though..... it's your life. And your partners.
  8. Yea... except the native culture actually WAS annihilated.
  9. LOL.. what? Mr. Fuck-the-Constitution-in-the-ass sayeth what? I'll take my licks for being a willfully apathetic, jaded, political cynic- but not from you. If they drew a line in the sand, raised our heroes from their graves and passed out guns, it'd be you and Susan Sontag on one side and me and Lincoln on the other. And it'd be an easy fight, 'cause guns would be illegal on your side. Irony.
  10. Good man; good words. Lost meaning; lost cause.
  11. While this is absolutely fucking horrible, is it really any worse than any other current main-stream genre? Need I present supporting evidence..... (please don't make me)
  12. This is a wanted ad? Yea, should be in the classifieds.. but you've got a lot of competition- rug makers bogart 'em pretty good.
  13. Wow... that seems like a good way to go. Can't beat $50. Not going to take the place of bag, though.. no pant can ever be warm enough to do what a bag does. But that's a pretty simplistic statement.
  14. Our good friend Joe Poulton posted a today-AM pic of a frosty looking Crown Jewel.... don't know HOW frosty, though... probably a damp kind of frosty. Maybe he'll chime in and clarify for us?
  15. Well?? The silence in this forum makes me suspicious
  16. The best decisions about snow safety happen at the kitchen table, not in the field. You look at telemetry, you look at the forecast, you compare those to the topo of your route, and you say, "yes, these things will bring a likelihood of stability," or "no, these ingredients bake death." THEN, after that screening process is over, and a good decision has been made to go out... now, out in the field, you continue to assess and monitor. If the field is as you predicted, based on good judgement at the kitchen table, you continue up.. but if you find anything that runs contrary to that, you bail or change plans appropriately.
  17. Yep... you'll find those are of limited use in the mountains. They're a mid-layer, with no weather protection.. so depending on your system, you'll need to take your shell pants off to put them on, them put your shell back on.. and the reverse to get them off, once you're sweating your ass off. Very impractical. I have no idea what your climbing looks like, but I'll share a learning process I experienced. The only times I've ever put on my insulated pants have been when sitting still for a lot longer than you ever should have to, in the mountains. Basically, when you fuck up, is about the only time you'll bust them out. And in my experience, insulated pants, even good mountaineer-specific pants, aren't warm enough for that... you will still freeze your everlovin' ass off and be miserable and get no sleep. So I don't generally take insulated pants anymore- if there's any risk of unplanned bivy, I just take a bag. Even my heaviest bags are less than 3lbs, and my insulated pants weigh at least half of that.. so it's not even a huge penalty for being able to actually stay warm if you did fuck up.
  18. I still have mine.. want 'em?
  19. I'm basically positive that's not actually google calling you... I get the same shit from Google, Yahoo (who I do actually pay for services- website and email hosting- yet still get called from "yahoo"), Yellow Pages, and probably thirty more. They're 3rd parties, not the actual companies.
  20. Seems like you could fill a rack pretty quick on shit bootied from and around the SE Corner..... wtf? Last year? Maybe the year before... between the two of us, Astrov and I found like 4 or 5 pieces, just poking around the bushes at the base, looking for something one of us dropped after a climb..

You voted for a law you cannot make a single argument in favor of? I thought, for some reason, I would get a rational debate from you... but you're just a vindictive anti-gun dick. Weak, dude. Very weak.

It seems like you're trying to shield your complete lack of a position to stand on by acting like we're having some kind of political debate... So here: I don't know what the future holds, and it could be that you're right, and evil big money will prevail, and our Constitutional rights will be further eroded and made even more meaningless. --- All of that out of the way, now: How can this law be enforced, and how can it be prosecuted? Realistic scenarios, please. ETA: Realistic application, please. I don't want to make it too narrow for you. Any plausible argument will work.

Dude... seriously. If you truly have nothing and you know it, just say it. Own up to it. I approve of this law just because. I have no realistic argument for it, I just don't like the idea of people being able to transfer ownership of guns without a background check, and even though there's very little recourse to enforce or prosecute under this law, I would rather law-abiding people have to go to FFLs to transfer their guns. Just own it.

    Fixed it for you.
