  1. What's the Ice Cliff look like right now?
  2. I would love to join up. I'm on summer break starting June 11th, but I will be gone from June 23rd-July 4th and another week in July. However, I pretty much have the rest of the summer off. Forbidden Peak and Outer Space are near the top of my list in climbing goals, and I'll take a look at some of the other routes too. I can lead 5.7 in the alpine, follow 5.9 alpine, and a little harder at the crags. -Mark
  3. The largest piece I have is a #3 Camalot. I'm not solid at 5.9 yet, but I'd like to be. I haven't done any 5.9 leads yet, but I plan on it soon. Say I whip from the worst possible scenario on Timberjack/Gorilla my Dreams. Would the bolts on either one hold?
  4. Are Gorilla My Dreams or Timberjack runout? They sound hard...but I'll go up there for sure!
  5. Should I do this route in two days or three? I might be going with my dad as a carryover, down the DC. My dad is afraid of this route- he doesn't have any ice climbing experience (I have some, enough to confidently lead the ice steps). I told him that terrain hazards would not be as high in earlier season. We both have glacier travel experience and we both know crevasse rescue and rope management. Would this be a safe alternative to the crowds of the DC? I'd like to take a unique route up Rainier because I want to experience the serenity and beauty of less-traveled routes. -Mark
  6. I have topped out on the 3rd pitch of Great Northern Slab quite a few times and always wondered what is above it. Has anybody been up there? Anything notable? -Mark
  7. A0 once I finish bolting it.
  8. Post a TR if you go- I would like to know what conditions are like on the Nisqually Icefall. I can't go though. -Mark
  9. I am also looking for partners. I can lead 5.7-5.8 trad, WI2-3, and I'm fine with alpine routes. I have mountaineering first aid training as well. I have gear but no car, and I live in Everett. I am very open to most kind of climbing and hoping to get on some routes like Forbidden Peak and Exfoliation Dome this summer. I am perfectly open to other suggestions as well! I'm just passionate to get out to do something that I love and meet new people as well. If anybody (OP or otherwise) is interested, please send me a PM. I am a junior in high school, so I am going to be around a lot of the summer, especially mid-late July and August. -Mark
  10. What the hell is that thing you're reaching for?
  11. I live in Everett and I don't have a car, but I'd love to spend a weekend in Leavenworth if you would like. I lead about 5.7-5.8 trad.
  12. Hahaha sorry for the misinterpretation then.
  13. I think that's exactly what he doesn't want. I hate it when people try to "keep an eye" on me when I am climbing just because I am under 18. However, I agree that this is just another publicity stunt. If he really cared about climbing, he'd work on some new routes in his local alpine area.
  14. Perhaps all the cam colors will be changed to different shades of red, with sizes being told apart mainly by the presence of either a star, a hammer, or a sickle. OK OK I'm just trolling now...
  15. I would love to go rock/alpine climbing on Sunday. I am up for just about anything, just give me a call or send me a PM. 425-423-9385
  16. I would love to go anywhere it is sunny. I am in Everett. I have a rope and rack, but no car. -Mark
  17. I weigh 30 pounds less than the kid and I'm 17!
  18. Tough stuff. Yellow is perfect, bigger is hard. Maybe I'll follow it to practice technical jams.
  19. Try to get the car. I wish there was a train to Index.
  20. Nobody? I have gear...
  21. Where do you get your avalanche forecasts from? I thought that NWAC stopped broadcasting this time of year...
