  1. Wish I could offer some specific info on your question, Nate, but I can concur that AAI has a good reputation, and a course with them would probably be a good thing to spend your money on. Good luck!
  2. ... apparently so http://www.turns-all-year.com/skiing_snowboarding/trip_reports/index.php?topic=31441.0
  3. If it's left in place on a route, like a bail anchor or a struck piece, it's booty. If it's forgotten at the base of a route,I would say it's not booty and would be bad form to not give it back if you knew who's gear it is. Also, nothing wrong with a post here to try and reclaim.
  4. I already skied that shit on my 210 Atomic Arc DH race skis. It was icy as shit so I just tucked and pointed it the whole way. If you want to race Chinese Downhill though I'm in.
  5. Dave Schultz you seem to be good at attempting to ski committing routes in sketchy and dangerous conditions. I'm surprised you are not dead. Good job in making the summit, I guess.
  6. You should have eaten some of these: http://www.nexgardfordogs.com/Pages/index.aspx
  7. It's nice of them to delay their suckage this year until a couple weeks into the season
  8. I can see the potential for having a pretty speedy time on LR but it's hard to compare anything in the alps to it due to its remoteness and because it gets relatively few ascents. Also, obviously, speed mountaineering isn't that big in North America.
  9. Sure someone's probably done it a bit quicker, like DPS said, but closer to 5 seems improbable for the reasons Feck stated. I'd also add that the most straight forward climbing on LR might be found early season, like May or early June, when the White River road isn't fully accessible.
  10. That doesn't seem slow. That's a long way to travel and a lot of vertical on some pretty steep terrain.
  11. Is it next to the sweet Renton granite?
  12. Cool. Hopefully you won't ever get deployed to Iowa or some flat land place like that.
  13. Surfing looks fun but I choose to ski because no one's ever been eaten by a shark while skiing. At least that I know of, anyway.
  14. I'd also recommend 2nd Ascent. I don't have as much experience with their shop work but last I was there they had a good selection of AT gear and a really knowledgeable salesperson.

    WOLVERINES!!
  16. Just be sure to call your mum first.
  17. Canadian Hunter is pretty good too but I wouldn't think hunting Canadians would be all that hard.
  18. Pretty sure it's a favorite of teenage girls and frat boys. Most climbers I know drink single malt or bourbon.
  19. Chair = chair
  20. Nice job. Looks like a very productive and fun trip!
  21. I would definitely agree with BGardner's assessment. I'd also recommend the Volkl Nunataq at 107mm underfoot. I'm on my 2nd season on them and I'm very stoked with them. They are much more versatile than I thought they'd be and ski well in a variety of conditions, excellent in pow, and are just under 8 lbs in the 186 cm. I do also have a little bit lighter and narrower ski for summer skiing but if I only had the Nunataq it would be a fine one ski quiver. I also got the Maestrale RS this season and have happy with them.
  22. Could be your co-worker is former military. In my experience military dudes don't give a fuck who they poop around. Do they not have stalls in the Army or what?
  23. Kevbone is good evidence devolution is occuring
  24. That's fucking lame. Poor dog.
  25. Definitely report back. I'd be interested in the skiing there. Probably not much help but theres a somewhat ambiguous article about skiing there in the recent issue of Skiing magazine.
