  1. I'd also rather see the money used for this spent on road and trail maintenance
  2. Grizzlies only eat hippies if they're really really hungry since hippies taste like patchouli and the dreadlocks get stuck in their teeth.
  3. I'm pretty sure if we can find a way to integrate bull fighting in as well we will have the ultimate chest beating hardman badass sport. We can share our exploits of bravery and get major respect on the innarnets. If we amend "bull" to snaffle or marmot we might have a legit authentic Cascadian event at hand.
  4. Someone go bolt it and I'll go climb it.
  5. Not sure why you'd be going in from Ingalls Crk.
  6. Almost as cool as a Subaru Brat, but not quite.
  7. Well you should at least expect to learn how to open a beer bottle using assorted climbing gear. That's one of my expectations from the book anyway.
  8. LOL ya a friend did the ridge in under 3 hrs hers is the record to beat Not C to C obviously. I bet the ridge itself gets climbed in under three hours all the time, even by wankers like me.

    Awesome.

Nothing wrong with kids mountaineering. I'm not familiar with that route on Mont Blanc but obviously not a good idea to take them up in those conditions!
  10. That's definitely not true.
  11. Ha. Also, Stuart isn't in the North Cascades last I checked. Nice job though. N ridge definitely sees a lot of traffic on weekends this time of year. It is a mega classic after all.
  12. I would say buy a Jetta TDI. Those cars do quite well in snow and ice, especially if you've got decent tires; and could handle most logging roads just fine. If a roads really bad just make the other guy with a suby or pickup drive. I love my subarus, we have two, but I live in snow and ice land and need to commute over the pass in the winter a lot.
  13. I recently bought a crosstreck. It doesn't get as good mileage as a non-awd but it's not bad and great on logging roads and snow and ice.

    Blame Obama

    No.
  15. Climbed bardeen a number of years back. I think the most adventurous part of the route was getting to it!
  16. Looks like it's still in pretty early season conditions. When we did it I don't even think we touched snow once we left the glacier. I think there's a lot of different options for ways to go though but can stay on rock a lot if you want.
  17. I'm ok with a big production crew filming a scene at The Country as long as it's a porno called "Cunning Stunt."
  18. Awesome Tim! Thanks for the stoke. Would love to climb with you over there sometime or over here when you're around this summer.
  19. Well, still doubt it was climbers that did it. Seems like a big assumption just because marking tape was taken off.
  20. Due to the fact that car windows were smashed at about the same time as your gear was stolen I would surmise that the perpetrators were not climbers. Though luckily I have never experienced it at Index personally, theft and vandalism are unfortunately an ongoing problem there. Can barely blame local climbers for that. Regarding your run-ins with unfriendly other climbers, that is indeed a poor representation of local climbers for which I apologize. Perhaps you can go into further detail about what happened so we can understand what the problem was?
  21. I've never experienced anyone there who have acted like assholes. Definitely climbers who have some attitude but I think that's too be expected anywhere. Funny though for the most part, those climbing the hardest routes are usually the nicest and most humble. The jerks are on the moderates that everyone does.
  22. Hell yeah! Glad to hear you crushed it. Nice alpine mumu, btw.
  23. I do believe Pat is a Naval Academy grad, correct?
