  1. You need a million dollars for that. He only has $2500.
  2. You've got some time between now and then. I might concentrate on finding a partner or partners for the time period. If no luck, hitting up the PNW for skiing and rock climbing would be a good backup plan. A solo trip to Cham seems feasible too because I've heard it's not hard to find partners there and if they've had a decent snow year skiing could still be good (and climbing too).

I'm pretty sure Sam Brownback is brain dead. Does that count?
  5. Any updates? How is Josh doing?
  6. Even if cam hooks do cause deterioration of index's rock, I would say please go ahead and use them anyway. Maybe then one day I can free City Park.
  7. Nice. Thanks for the report. Sounds like an awesome trip to an interesting place. Also enjoyed the blog post about climbing in Italy.
  8. Probably not the best weekend to be up on Rainier anyway. Might want to wait for a forecast with a little bit better visibility
  9. Dammit Off, you made me look it up; and you are right. It's the Lewis Glacier I was thinking of, which is just west of Maple Pass between Corteo and Black.

True fact that wolves are the 8th most popular subject of bad internet poetry.
  12. As a matter of pure trivia, I would think the Douglas Glacier near Black Peak is the closest glacier to a road in the N Cascades. Any other ideas? Also, I recently read that the Carbon Glacier on Rainier is the lowest elevation glacier in the lower 48, but I always thought Whitehorse Glacier was.

How clever. You'd make a good teacher.
  14. Because no one should be able to move there after you did? Say, friend, when did you move to Mazama? You'd better say you grew up there or you sure are going to look like a big hypocrite.
  15. Congratulations on an excellent europe trip with the fam. Very cool.
  16. Yeah too bad they couldn't stay as backwater former logging towns with an out of control meth problem. But if that's what you prefer, at least you've still got Aberdeen and Darrington, among others.
  17. Perhaps the parties involved should join forces to contest the mine potentially being built nearby on Goat Peak.
  18. Cool to see "obscure" index routes become less so.
  19. Funny. I would say say the exact inverse on both accounts.
  20. Lots of places and times of years there is no avalanche rating. The challenge involves making your own determination. So the OP's theory makes no sense.
  21. RIP "professional fun haver," Liz Daley. The mountains won't be the same.
  22. Cool. I've been curious about those routes since I saw them in the book. Would you recommend?
  23. That's terrific Rudy. You have any links to media articles or vid footage?
  24. Not surprising in the last few years that Marc has become a well known climber, while CJB has become a well known douchebag.
  25. See article in today's Seattle Times
