  1. "Gear Notes: Too much gear" Lol, I hear that, always something to improve. 5th picture down - is that on the ridge separating the Inter glacier and the Emmons? Cool spot and nice pic!
  2. Nice shot of the Fin from above. Cool perspective!
  3. Great TR, V I think that bivy spoiled me. What a great perch that V found. With little flattening of snow the tent fit in there like it was meant to. Nothing soft about this woman
  4. Very cool stuff you two! The rock on Gunsight looks stellar and the Asa logs are just amazing history - thanks for sharing!
  5. Dig the bunny excitement shot! Nice work, good stuff
  6. crimper, glad to have you with us, man. Truly screwed up.
  7. John, this is just fantastic!! "only the edges of my tips and tails were keeping me on the slope" -that's some awesomeness right there!
  8. I don't go that route. I run semi warm so my layers have been for Summer Rainier: While climbing: -Long sleeve synthetic base layer -gore-tex hardshell Stopped: -Throw my puffy belay jacket on top of it all.
  9. Man, I gotta get me one of those helmet cams Nice work!
  10. Damn, you guys make it all look like a walk in the park Nice work!
  11. Josh, this is just amazing and awesome. Keep it up, man.
  12. With a recent thread on the OW I figured I'd post a pic of the OW pitch I had lying around to complement the BB OW discussions. This thread seemed semi-appropriate so here it is (click on pic for the big version):
  13. Stop by and I'll lend you my #6 - seriously. We used a #5 for most of it and I walked it for a few moves. It would be a good runout without, so it's up to you. The OW is not hard though or very strenuous... but it is still nice to protect. So yeah, the 5 was fine, but the 6 would take you farther and the weight difference wouldn't be that much. But whatever, if you want to borrow a #5 you can borrow mine. Doug
  14. Jimbo, man, excellent pics and long looking tour. That looks just purely stelar. Right on.
  15. Yeah, we did do it in 3 days, 2 nights, but still, the other factors (route being in better condition earlier and the loopable factor) still played in pretty strongly. I'm sure if one was motivated and strong they could do it in 2 days from white river. I've certainly heard of people doing Lib Ridge in 2 days from White River and Ptarmigan isn't much more involved or longer than getting to thumb rock. Most parties we saw last year were doing Lib Ridge in 3 days.
  16. To whoever found and dropped off my camera today at the registration office - YOU ROCK!!
  17. White River I'm just messin', but we did it through White River last year since it opened way earlier than Mowich, conditions were going (melting) fast, and it made for a real easy loop without having to spot a car at each end. We had no problems crossing the Carbon and getting onto the ridge. I've never been to the Mowich area so I can't compare it to that, but I've heard it's pretty nice.
  18. Thanks k. Give me a call
