This is not a concern for morons. You may return to your couch.

Holy crap! I'd better get busy and post some badass TRs. You don't have to lift a finger if you'll just admit you're lazy. There's no shame in it. Lars need do even less. Not only lazy, but a fucking moron, too. Pretty sweet gig.

Oh, I almost forgot. FW fucks his own dog.

Lincoln served the most dismal presidency in our history. There are few men in history who could have done what he did to hold the Union together under such horrendous circumstances. Truly a great man. FDR pulled us from the worst depression in our history, then commanded our forces to victory in two simultaneous world wars. Incredible. TR was a true renaissance man; a gifted writer, scholar, athlete, and naturalist. He was one of the first true champions of social and economic justice (redistribution of wealth, as it's now called), and conservation. In other words, he was the exact opposite of a contemporary Republican. He did share one, and only one, trait with today's Republicans, however: he was an avid war monger. Roosevelt loved war and believed a necessary part of maintaining our national spirit. During his second unsuccessful run at the presidency, this trait took over the man, transforming him into an embarrassing characature of his former self; shrill, xenophobic, and blatantly racist. Fortunately, he was handily defeated.

Obama's gonna fuck McCain up the ass nationally. He might as well pull out and spoodge all over McCain's face in Arizona for an even more satisfying finish.

Fox is biased? I'm appalled. JEbus, why don't you take a STFU break, puppyfucker? Poor lil' fella...

I have it on good authority that FW fucks his own dog. After he gits it drunk, of course. Otherwise, the pup'd have nothin' t' do with 'im.

Kind of scary how much of a third string propagandist FW is. A junkyard mutt wouldn't swallow his shitebites if he wrapped them in bacon and stuck 'em up a squirrel's ass.

Too gaudy.

I don't remember checking my identity at the door, but as for being told what to do, that's true. I also don't remember being told what to think. I'd say the people I knew in the military ranked among the top free thinkers I've ever known. If it was a prison, it was a voluntary one. Sure, there were some chest beaters crying for the attention Daddy never gave them, like our friend AKA here, but there were far more talented, intelligent, and diverse individuals, at least where I was. There is a need for a military, just as there is a need for police; the darker side of human nature warrants it. Just not as big and expensive as the currently unaffordable version we've got today. It's eating us alive. As for being a welfare program, the military certainly is that, but that's not all bad. As in the case of my family, it's can be an effective gateway out of poverty, as well as a way to constructively socialize troubled individuals. In a society full of excuses, I'd say the 'no excuse' philosophy pushed during my military experience was a breath of fresh air. I only wish our commander in chief and his cronies adhered to it.

Coast Guard boot camp and 3 months duty doesn't count you know. That whole being in the military thing is more difficult than it seems. I figure anyone who can take more than 2 years (my max tolerance) may be pretty bad-assed. Putting up with the bullshit in the military is the tough part. Physically, it doesn't even register on the difficulty scale as compared to some of the other activities that came later. One thing the military's real good at is promoting the habit of unwarranted chest beating.

From the article they did it bit by bit with a chain saw. I don't know about sedating the horse. Careful work with the saw no doubt. I would think that after the first few seconds of cutting into the horse it wouldn't require any sedation.

Dude, you're in the military. Why look beyond your unit to get your unit into some other guy's mouth? Lock and load.

Been there, done that.

Estimated cost of Iran hostage rescue: About $100 million. Cost of Iraq occupation per day: About $340 million. Sorry, I should have stated that we botch an operation like the rescue about 3.4 times a day.
-
"Joe? Are you here today?"
-
It's called Iraq.
-
Come on, Scott, you're not THAT big.

I look forward to paying for your living rather than wasting our national treasure for your uniformed adventures. At least I won't be footing the bill for all those expensive toys you guys trash.

The standard GOP party line is to malign Carter, but Carter's mistakes aren't even in the same order of magnitude as GWB in numerical and cultural terms. Carter's signature personality shortcoming was that he couldn't find a way to work with the legislature, a deficit which made him unable to enact his agenda effectively. This worked for him as Governor of Georgia in pushing a reform agenda, but it did not work as President. If the country had enacted Carter's energy independence program 30 years ago, we would likely not be in the sorry predicament we are today regarding energy and global warming. Our 3 auto makers; our largest mfging industry, might not be collapsing. We probably wouldn't have gone into Iraq. Palin would not be able to bill herself as an 'energy expert'. The list goes on and on. Carter is also blaimed for being handed a post Vietnam economic hangover and oil shocks from the Middle East; both events largely out of the President's control. And of course the hostage rescue; a big deal in those innocent times. Today, we botch an operation like that about once a day.
