Agreed. Nice TR. Pope's Crack was one of my favorite climbs in J-tree.

The Marmot Helium from a few years ago is awesome. It has 900 fill down, but I think the newer versions have less quality down.

Hey Mark, Red Rocks kicks ass. Highly recommend it. We'll probably pass each other on the hiway if you end up going to J-tree. I'll be down there until the 17th - then I gotta be back home. Also, Red Rocks is not too far of a drive from J-tree. Have fun!

I was able to get through in Late Sept. with license and Birth cert. I think you need a passport starting in June '09. Actually I got through, but my buddy couldn't (long story, but it made me hate crossing the border/ and those cocksucker agents even more).

Outerspace is not GF material. Take her to X38 so there's no crowding on coolish routes.

Word on Red Rocks. I'm headed there next week,most of the routes we have picked out to do are about 8-10 pitches of pure trad. However, you can't go wrong with J-tree (unless the weather craps out).

I'd also be interested in the lingering snow/ice conditions in the area. Does anyone have any first hand info they'd share (I know things will be whiter tomorrow)? Basically, has winter started?

We left the parking lot around 4:30 or so yesterday, and I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary at that time. Plus, there was at least one other climber in the lot when we drove off (female). Everytime I'm on the way back to my car, I kind of expect to see my window busted out. It seems to happen to everyone - it's just a matter of time.

We didn't do Mr. Natural on this trip. From the looks of it though, it is on the to-do list next time around. It seems like from rockfall scare, climbing traffic on the apron has declined. It looked like some gardening was needed on several climbs.

Just got back into town, and it'd be nice to get out before it rains...again. I'm in Seattle area. Would prefer Index or 11worth. Starting to lead 10s on gear. PM!!!!
