  1. Its called the master cleanse, more intense then a juice fast...less then a water fast. I did it for a spring cleaning, its a big transition time in my life and I felt the need to do it. I don't go to doctors and this is my way of healing my body....after day 10 your body starts repairing damaged tissue...blah blah blah. I wanted to go longer but you get sorta spacy which I was getting tired of One thing I have wondered about doing this type of fast is if I need to cut out my activity. I just can imagine having no energy. Did you use spirolina or super blue green in your juice or any other type of suplement? no suplements

  3. 16 days of fasting (ending tomorrow!) lost less then 10 pounds but a lot of inches. Still able to run, bike, yoga, and climb . Now I think I will eat 100% raw for a month.
  4. I posted this but it got chopped, i'll try again... when the beans are simmering skim the froth/foam that forms. soaking the beans helps. you can also add kombu, a sea vegetable.

  6. Love quinoa! Yeah! its so high protein and low cal. works for all the meal hot or cold. Doing all these fasts/cleanses has really caused me to reevaluate my eating habits. I no longer crave sugar, meat (except fish), NO milk products. Don't drink as much beer as I used to (sake instead ). Lots of fresh made juice and veggies. Its a good way to reset the body.
  7. I'm just givin ya shit. Good job on no coffee! That must have been super hard for you....I'm in a week with out all those goods too. Climbing yes!
  8. I don't know what the zone diet is....but use quinoa for the base of your meals its a super food, and ideally eat 75% raw. My cleanse is 1300 cals. a day.

  11. Finally, another granola hippie! When I'm super active I cant' stomach the knarly grease in the mornings.... it'll just end up back on the counter... I like the whole oatmeal with whey protein powder, flaxseed, almonds, honey, cinnamon and whatever other super high calorie stuff you can think of. Either that, or just copious quantities of dark chocolate and thermos esspresso...... nothing works better than pure adrenal carnage to get you up a glacier at 1:00am! steel cut oats are the best kick start for in the morning cuz they take alot of energy to digest which starts the body up....so i hear. and I forgot about coffee. Oh and replace the honey (which actually is glorified sugar) with the grade b maple syrup (full of minerals and vitamins). I'm on a "cleanse" right now so my breakfast involves salt water and lemon/syrup/cayanne water...spam a woman i know at my office has been doing that. when i talked to her on friday she was on day 7 and had dropped more than 10 pounds. she looks like hell though and doesen't have the energy to work out. I want to try it but i don't have the time to be on my ass for 2 weeks. how is your energy level holding up to the lack of chewing stuff??? This is my second cleanse (the first i did for 11 days with 2 weeks eating raw after). This time I'm going for 15 plus. I feel great actually. Lots of energy, climbing, running. I work with kids all day and its been fine. Your co-worker may not be following it EXACTLY which you really need to do. I have not lost weight, i didn't the last time either. PM me for more info.

  13. Steel cut oats with flax seeds, grade B maple syrup or sunflower seed butter, whatever fruit is around (usually bananas or frozen berries). You can also add nuts to it...I like cashews or almonds or juiced apple, orange, carrots, grapefruit, ginger, spinach, with protein powder. (basically whatever fruit is around)

  18. We had to take a .22 from a kid (16yo)at the youth center I work at. He admitted he had it all week at school.

  21. 50 is the new 20....so i hear at least thats what some people were saying in the grocery line the other day!
  22. she was taking all the furniture so i siliconed the shelves down...ya know for April Fools...
  23. i just checked and she took all the ice trays but one (three gone). Hah! I never even thought 'bout the cube trays. Funny!
