Another example of a useless Seahawks thread I refuse to read

Whoever sold their La Sportiva Nepal 43.5 boots to Second Ascent, I just want to say thank you. What a wonderful find for $50! Looks like they've been to many interesting places already. w00t!

Looking for Mt. Jefferson partners this spring.
ClimbingPanther replied to tvashtarkatena's topic in Oregon Cascades
The name escapes me, but the trailhead to get to Jefferson Park was not accessible by car in early may of 2004, a terrible snow year. -
what did they do if the strange women were a little queer also?

What do you think this means? Apparently, a significantly higher percentage of whites believe America is ready for a black president than the percentage of blacks who feel that way. Do many blacks perceive racism as more prevalent than it really is? Do many whites just lie to the polls and say what's politically correct? I wonder if it's because racism is more prevalent in the south where a higher concentration of blacks live, so they see it as the big problem that it really is down there, but haven't experienced other parts of the country where those feelings are less common? Where is racism at today anyway? How close is America to being "cured?" I sure don't see it much here in the NW.

If you live anywhere near sea level, like below 1000 feet, don't get a Timex. They lock for a long while and you can't manually unlock them if the reading drops too low. I left mine in the car when I climbed Rainier because it was locked and worthless.

Show of hands for how many people don't read this guys's posts no matter what they're about... Too bad he doesn't stick with the same avatar like jonmf so I can ignore him.

One word: Ex Officio Boxer-Briefs (other brands may be acceptable, the boxer-brief is the key) And: Don't shave down there I've never chafed and I've taken some long trips. And be sure to wipe your butt very well 'cause that can cause chafing too.
-
Boxer-briefs? Hello! You missed that one, and that's all I wear climbing. Not literally, you know what I mean

Ryland is right on. That was the height (depth?) of laziness to carry GPS with you and not even use it. No matter what the weather, it would have been very simple to at least mark where they started at Timberline and points along the way to retrace steps if need be. To "back up" someone's foolishness is to validate your own.

So far, I've been happy with my new Canon Powershot 710A http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=14117 My favorite part is that you can manually override just about everything. It's equipped to be a solid point-and-shoot while giving you room to grow as you learn more about cameras so you won't need a new one when you get better. I like.

you don't miss anything, do you? but do you miss me? miss misery like you say you do?

that was an awfully inventive answer, wasn't it?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the recent and as-yet unexplained recovery of heart function after 4 days stopped. Of course nobody can say for sure what happened, just one of those things that make you go "hmmm"
-
When I was there in December, someone did it with an axe and a tool. I would recommend this because carrying an extra tool for 10 feet sucks when you won't "need" it in the true sense of the word. Unnecessary weight =

Believe me, anyone who doesn't have his head in the sand knows that the Republican party has undergone a terrifying transformation. Christians don't vote for them because they like wire-tapping and indefinite imprisonment without indictment and unjust war and fiscal irresponsibility and the list goes on. They often hold certain deeply held values like sanctity of life, etc. above others and those are the issues they vote on. Rhetoric like yours about considering Christianity the most insidious enemy of America only scares people even more into voting for those who are generally pro-Christian, which recently has been the Rep. party.
-
Freedom is a relative word. Nobody is truly free under any form of government. Christians are no more guilty of restricting freedoms than those who seek to restrict the Christian's freedom and demonize them for what they believe. America's most lofty ideal is "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." Self-determination is the best thing you could ask for from a government and I think any intellectual, no matter what their faith, would be reluctant to chip away at this principle. But government must step in and provide some structure to live by. Everyone will disagree on the details of law, but that is healthy. A one-party system is a dictatorship. I and most people don't agree 100% with how either of our parties does its business, but the nature of any system with more than one party is fundamentally one of dialogue and choice. Just be careful you never advocate for "laws that restrict the free exercise" of my religion because I will never try to restrict yours.

good call, I didn't even think about that. sulfur is not a sleep-aid for me at least!

I think, more important then how you get through it, there's two words to remember: Bombproof anchor! (and out of the way of the ensuing mini-avalanche) As for the tunneling itself, this is a good topic 'cause I'll likely be on a route this spring with one. I intend to treat it like performing surgery. Very delicately, bit by bit. I will worry about it detaching no matter how strong it looks.

Or does everyone just drink Bud Dry?

Everyone's always asking "Where is the nodder?" but have any of you ever stopped to wonder "Why is the nodder?"

I think you missed the context, I was making a funny and telling the zealots to lay off. Anyway, I'd love some uber hip coffee shop, as long as it had good coffee and was open past 10!!! The rest of your urban vices will quickly wither in the light of the REPUBLICAN PARTY!!!

You've probably all seen the first one, but I hadn't seen the second one before... Proof that girls are evil: First we state that “girls require time and money.” Girl = Time x Money And as we all know “time is money.” Time = Money And because “money is the root of all evil.” Money = sqrt(Evil) Originally we have: Girl = Time x Money And now we substitue everything in, we get: Girl = Money x Money Girl = sqrt(Evil) x sqrt(Evil) Girl = (sqrt(Evil))^2 Gril = Evil But here’s another proof to show how men are THREE TIMES worse Proof that men are 3 times more evil: First we state that men need time, money, girl and sex. Men = Time x Money x Girl x Sex We all know “time is money.” Time = Money Therefore: Men = Money x Money x Girl x Sex And we all know to many men: Girl = Sex As for men’s proof showing “girls are evil” So Girl = Evil then, Evil = Sex Men = Money x Money x Evil x Evil Men = Money^2 x Evil^2 And because “money is the root of all evil.” Men = (sqrt(Evil))^2 x Evil^2 Men = Evil x Evil^2 Men = Evil^3 Men’s proof: Girl = Evil Girl’s proof: Men = Evil^3 So we are forced to conclude men are worse than girls.
