If there's one thing we should all know by now living in America, it's that money=power. Those who perpetually advocate bigger government in terms of money should be prepared to accept the terms of power that go with it. I just said "cc.commie" because it sounds funny.

hehe, maybe this whole Iraq mess HAS done some unexpected good... to make the cc.commies re-think the federal deity they created

oops, too many people saying the same thing

chucK, I know you can present a better rebuttal of the school funding problem than saying "my way of taxation or no taxation at all." I wasn't claiming that we should do away with school funding, so presenting my position as such only serves to make it easy to shoot me down. Seriously, I believe it's the single biggest flaw of property tax, and it serves to perpetuate wealth by providing rich communities with better education systems to help their kids get better paying jobs and become rich too. I would be very much in favor of replacing property tax with a state income tax. Just because Federal income tax is complicated doesn't mean a state income tax would have to be complicated. Recycled didn't seem to give income tax a fair treatment in his "analysis" so I didn't give his "argument" much weight.

seriously. that's some Enron-like budget smokescreening! I really hate the dishonesty behind that claim, since it's sure to make poor uneducated schmucks actually believe things are going well financially.

not really sure where you got the idea that you deserve a response, O King Thoughtful Rebutter G-spotter, here's your car analogy shoot-down: the fees for owning a car are actually nil (i think, feel free to prove me wrong). there's no tax that anybody owes for simply having a car sit on their property & be driven to and from the mailbox. sales tax applies to any good/service, so that's a given. there's registration & insurance requirements for actually driving on public roads, and that makes a lot of sense. but none simply because of the fact you own it. chucK, I agree with your sentiment that taxes should be levied ideally against those who benefit most, but your examples don't fly. owning property fundamentally has nothing to do with city services, as you get a bill for those in the mail. if that doesn't cover the costs associated with the services, then increase the rates. taxing for school funding is bound to be inequitable because the more kids you have, the less money you have to send them to school. no way to make that one really work by taxing those who benefit most, so I'd favor that being rolled in to a state income tax. in fact, the whole premise of basing school funding on property taxes & levies contributes to the unequal funding for schools that the average liberal whines about until he/she's blue in the face. ever wondered why rich communities have more money for school when their funding comes from rich people? whew, that's a stumper! property tax is pure BS, and I'm surprised how many people actually support it.

am I drunk? I don't see any demeaning reference to KkkKk in this post...

the government has a lot of really dumb policies that seem only to hurt it in terms of $$$ they could make some coin with an auction or something, but they'd rather dump it? proof that elected officials generally lack intelligence.

Y U HATES ECUDATION??/ I hate property tax. it just seems anti-American that you can't own your land and be done with it. no no no, you HAVE to have an income to have the American dream. seems to, albeit in a relatively small way, perpetuate wealth. if I were a liberal I'd still be against it and would find another way to make it up.

hard to argue against common sense, isn't it prole? what's the difference, seriously?

Q. What's more unbelievable to the average agnostic than creationism? A. The Beyond Clothing BS that's being foisted on us this very moment! oops nevermind, google saved their reputation

That makes a lot of sense, since your body needs some serious carb-age after really hard or long workouts. You will do your body good by an after-workout refueling of carbs:protein 4:1 within an hour or two, and I don't mean a little snack either. Give your body what it needs to repair itself when you're working hard. All this diet stuff and eating less carbs is not meant for a serious athlete.

I wonder why nobody ever makes a big deal about what's going on at the molecular level, because that's where the real story is. Building on that, if your body is not trained to be certain it's going to get a steady stream of sugar, it will learn to depend more on your fat reserves to keep running. Since you always have fat around to burn, your energy metabolism becomes much more stable and less dependent on you to feed it another fix of sugar.

Somewhere, Buckaroo's voice can be heard... "Why didn't I see that before?"

Wow, that was a really respectable thing to do, coming out & explaining what you did in detail. Let's respect her level of politeness & reason in the tone of discussion, eh? My 2 cents is that the desire to see others enjoy your route is admirable, but to me it is ineligible for bolting by virtue of it's crack-ness, and even more so since you climbed it repeatedly with gear proving it's feasable. The fact it doesn't meet the comfort level of lesser climbers should not be a factor in the decision. This is an important issue because it's a slippery slope. Like CBS said, it sets a bad precedent. Ethical decisions affect all of us the farther down the slope we go, so this is not just an issue for the experienced trad hardman who climbs your route and looks you in the eye and says he still wants the bolts gone. But hey, life goes on, and seriously, thanks for the work you & Jim do at vantage and especially on the up and coming guidebook! I am a beneficiary and I appreciate it. There's a lot of anxious customers-to-be out here. oh, and this needs to be resolved one way or the other before the guidebook comes out... "But the book says there's supposed to be bolts and an anchor! That was my favorite quickdraw!!!"

KkkKk, you seem to be awfully sensitive of late about your name... what is it you're calling tvash nowadays?

I have better things to do with my time than spend a whole morning with that asshole. I think we all know what the KKK guy does with his precious time: does the low hanging fruit taste sweeter, No. 13 Baby? or is that all you can reach?
