  1. If they were on closed roads or were blocking the actual roadway, then maybe the best course of action would have been to tow the cars to the nearest safe location (ranger station?), ticket them, and mail them a bill from the tow company? No matter how wrong the drivers may have been, it's still unacceptable to put their survival in question in this situation by completely removing their cars & leaving them with no way out. It's just not the same as a city driveway.
  2. sorry, I don't give out my # on the interweb
  3. Um, that's not weird. Once Archie gets a hold of that link, you think she'll have time to post on cc.com?
  4. V1, V2? sandbaggers
  5. Markov the beast and his mark
  6. Regardless of what facts one may want to be included, it's hard to argue that they have not been largely absent from the major news outlets' reporting. I'm surprised at how much fluff talk is flashed on screens and headlines. I don't know hardly anything about any of the candidates. Looks like I'll have to do my own digging to learn anything.
  7. I was waiting on the edge of my seat to find out just what the "mark" really was. I didn't see that in the AP article. Maybe his mischevious son got a hold of a sharpie while the guy was drunk?
  8. That made my morning
  9. The nikwax I use doesn't look like earwax... well, not my earwax at least. I'd say it looks more like skim milk. Probably works as well too. I use my boots very often in no-snow conditions & never experience significant wetness from sweat. The boot-puddle so far has a perfect correlation with wet snow deep enough to contact the upper. My socks are dry at the ankle, so it's not from snow coming in the top either.
  10. I do know for a fact that texting became illegal on Jan 1, 2008, and a hands-free device is required as of July 1, 2008. So talk it up while you still can! from the WSP: According to the WSP and Washington Courts, the correct fines for the above violations are listed below: • The fine for a carpool lane violation is $124.00. There is no increased fine for repeated offenses. • The fine for an incorrect lane change, driving on the shoulder and blocking an intersection is $124.00 (These fines rise to $174.00 if the violation results in a collision) • Passengers over the age of 16 will receive a citation for failing to wear a seatbelt. The only time a driver will receive a citation for their passenger failing to wear a seatbelt is if the passenger is under the age of 16. • Drivers can receive a citation for driving even 1 mile per hour above the posted speed limit. • Starting July 1, 2008, the fine for using a cell phone while driving without a “hands free” device will be $124.00. (Traffic fines can be higher if the violation occurs in a construction zone.)
  11. I sense a sudden impulse purchase of like 5 of their products.... must... not... click!!! I'm really excited to try their leather & fabric waterproofer for my boots. Nikwax is pure garbage in that realm. I am so diligent in being liberal and thorough, and it works for a couple miles in snow, but after that I risk getting trench foot.
  12. WAY 2 GO REI!!! thank for selling McNett boat cleaner, and for not selling McNett Revivex. what nikwax pay you for dat? Mountain Gear carries the entire line of McNett products.

  14. I'm looking at making a product made from coconut oil surfactant fertilized by the urine of the Dali Lama as well as casein used as a blocking agent made only from the finest Cambodian breast milk. Let's keep spray in spray. Mmmkay? I think jon's on to something. sounds like it could be a multi-purpose staple in the backcountry. rub a little on your jacket, take a sip for nourishment.
