Head thumping and all.......... you still got it!

Pup and I did attempt the Kautz route on the Deer this past summer. I had a great time and we never got close to the summit. Pup got sick and we turned around and headed down the mountain. I had a good time and missing the summit did suck but pup was having problems with the altitude and so the following day we headed out. I messed up the route on the way out and he never bitched or complained... we both got out alive and will live to climb another day. He's a little slow... never bothered me. Made me feel strong ... Enjoyed the trip and had a great time. Learned lots of beta for the route and would do it with him again... as long a we had an extra day at high camp...... the Kautze route and high camp at 11K is a bitch... he's a good guy and I would climb with him again if he wanted to climb. Good guy.

Fuzzy.... this is the real story... We love the mountains and will do what ever it takes to enjoy them..,,,, I have climbing partners who have plenty and others who don't... we all get the same mountains though... love them just the same.

what is the point of this post?.... We go into the wild because it is what we want to do. We feel alive and one with whatever we come in contact with. I love the mountains......period. I will always love the mountains and the stars that you can't see shit of when in the city. What the hell does that have to do with money. We all .....well I do anyways... head to the mountains because I like to. If you don't..... well I respect your feelings but... they are not mine.

What's really wacked is going back and searching some of his posts on SuperTopo... Wow.. For fun sake give it a shot. His posts are from just days ago bragging about you guessed it... Bush and his fellows.

Matt has a great point... you don't give up Geneva for the hell of it. Bush is a dick and it shall be proved in history... now is not the time. Climbed emmons this year and had a partner get sick on the kautz route. Want to climb it again this year.. don't really give a shit if it's the DC or whatever... I just want to climb. If your interested... please let me know as soon as possible. Best, G

Delmarco... You are right... I have this jacket and love it... But for most stuff in the NW the EP or the non hooded stratus would be plenty.

Chicken..brown rice and lots of greens will get ya through it... sucks for flavor though.... You eat only that and you'll be damn regular and also not gain a pound... if it's bigger than your fist.... it's to much... 5 meals a day and you will survive intact... every three hours.. yikes... to much work... It does work though.

BD Speed 30 or whatever is the new version should suit you just fine. Great packs... If you want a little more freedom... the Shadow series is pretty damn nice also... larger though. Speed 30 or the newest version would get my vote.
