  5. next time give him 2 options: 1. take him to police and let them prosecute it. 2. the beating of his life, and he doesn't get reported.

  7. when you say "caught" do you mean by the cops, or jsut other climbers?
  8. Everyone loves Bend, OR but the unemployment rate there is something like 30%. Dont even think of moving to Bend.
  9. RyanB- thats an amazing piece of rippled granite! Where'd ya find it?
  10. if you like the sound of Water's post above, get used to rain and clouds if you're thinking of living west of the cascades. East is a good compromise on weather, but the urban areas are much smaller. If that isn't an issue (with working in your field for instance) slightly east of the cascades can be a good setup. Opportunities abound in the NW! I can only recommend it out here. Tons of trails everywhere, lots of local crags and a distinctly different attitude on things.
  11. is any of the data downloadable for those of us who work in GIS fields?

    What a rush!

I don't think you're body would handle the G force of an ejection too well. Might take an inch or two off your height just through spinal compression.
  13. Tried it around Halloween (placing and replacing pumpkins). The rock in there is slicker than snot! It is water polished and very difficult to stay on, though I am sure dry rock shoes would be better than wet wetsuit booties...
  14. Candi following up the ridge above Jeff Park glacier on Mt Jefferson.
  15. oh, and I do know of someone with an original Mountain Club pennant flag.

    Step up

Sweet. One of the first things that the coordinator might be able to work on is the skull hollow campground closure. Just a thought...
  18. not calling out Ian at all, but this is BS. I studied this issue in school for 4 years (Recreation Resources focus) and the broad trend is to turn over everything to concessionaire management. The concessionaire management was certainly part of the plan long before anything started up at skull hollow.
  19. surprise surprise!

    The Best or Oregon

Dont know how experienced ya are, but the menagerie has some great climbing, but it is very adventurous and run out; not for beginners. The Cascades are all fairly easy winter access, and during winter/spring, climb like any other snow covered mtn. During the summer, climbing the Cascades are sketchy kitty-litter. Look into the western oregon rock guides (3 of them) mentioned above. Within 2.5-3.5 hrs of Corvallis, you've got a playground of high quality climbing, but almost none within an hour. give a holler when you get to Corv, I'll have a beer with ya. Welcome! (ignore the terrorism related bull**** in the news about Corvallis the last few days; we dont breed 'em like that, and the mosque firebombing was disgraceful)
  21. yes, jest only. I have no problem with who's pokin' who, as long as they make the world a better place. sickie
  22. ya, spandex just screams "I'm straight"
