  2. Why thank you! Yeah, did the cookie thing in both places several times, but to no avail. No worries, just throwing it out there to see if there was an obvious issue/solution. Thanks Porter
  3. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, or if it's even related to the upgrade (though this problem began with the upgrade) but when I to the the log in page and log in, it immediately takes me to the forum...which is good. But I don't actually get logged in. I have to do it a second time and then I am finally in. It's not a major issue since I eventually get in, but I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else. Thank you, my donation will be in shortly.

    8.5%...that's worthy.
  5. Good job Joe! I'm curious, in retrospect, are you confident that you were on the right ridge on SS? Coming down Middle, did you have a good view of the route? I'm just surprised it was as difficult as you thought it was. I'm also wondering if you would have started earlier from Pole Creek so that it was just getting light when you hit the Bowling Alley.
  6. She didn't come with any. Just a baret, that 'dress', some cork boots and a sixer of PBR tallboys.
  7. She just left and I only got her first name.
  8. Sorry, my hands were shaking when I took the picture.
  9. As Bill suggested in the old thread, having some cc.com shirts there to buy would be a great idea.
  10. Impressive. Would be even cooler looking down on that from up on the mountain. [img:left]http://www.offpistemag.com/blog/UserFiles/image/fire_02.jpg[/img]
  11. Yeah, butcha ya better use a different attachment!
  12. Doug Fir has some great pre-fest grub!
  13. Don't forget about the Wang Dang Doodle!
  14. Fresh Air replayed Terri's interview with him from 1997: NPR Interesting cat.
  15. Not sure who keeps records of this stuff, but I say go for it. 7 hours is probably doable if jogging the entire route is doable for you. The crux is the bowling alley. If you can get through that quickly and unscathed, then you're really only faced with a lot of energy-sucking scree to contend with everywhere else. Make sure you have the correct ridge picked out on the north side SS before you head up. It's pretty straight forward, but just find your route well in advance. Good luck!
  16. What IS the perfect President/Presidential candidate?
  17. Classic.
  18. Perhaps this thread should be moved to the Kids forum. Seems better suited there.
  19. For Free (or trade for maybe a 6-pack of good beer if you're local): BD Wizkid. 2004-ish model. Very gently used, like maybe 6-8 times at the gym...pretty much good as new. Pick-up in SW Portland or I'll ship it.
  20. Echo a lot of what Mel mentioned. I really like Ski Bowl (IF they get the snowfall). It's great because it's a quick trip from town (especially Clackamas) and it's relatively cheap. They have their own ski school (although I'm not sure how it compares to the others). Plus they're open until 11 Friday and Saturday. They also have terrain that goes from easy to relatively challeging with quite a few black runs. Of course Meadows is awesome and Timberline has it's advantages too, but for a quick trip to ski after work or on a short time frame, I like Ski Bowl.

    School's Starting!

I bet his parents felt terrific when he came home from school that day. Great job!
  22. Should be fun to see the new inmate in the elephant cage.
  23. I'm on my 3rd PBR. I love working from home!
  24. I have one. Mind you, I wasn't the one who purchased it, but if it keeps everyone happy at home, then so be it. It has worked great every time except once. You need to make sure you keep it powered on for about 20-30 minutes after you press one of the buttons (in my case, I've only pushed the "OK" button). I immediately turned mine off after I sent the message and it never got a chance to go through. It needs to be able to keep trying if the first one fails. Other than that, it's a pretty cool, straight forward tool. The only drawback is that it is making my map case pretty full. SPOT, Compass, altimeter, GPS, map, cell phone, flares, boombox, pint of vodka...
