  1. I guess Dave was asking whether snowshoes were/are needed for Stuart.. it could be a cakewalk on terra firma till you turn off towards Colchuck, and then a big post-hole fest after that till you get to Stuart. Last year, we had to bail on the ice cliff route in mid-April partly because we were sinking too much without snowshoes. Another team with snowshoes did the route a day before us, and there was enough traffic to Colchuck without floatation as well. BTW, nice jorb on TCs!
  2. But I'm not tired of listening to you . Keep it coming Harry!! Thanks a ton for the thorough info on tents.
  3. What exactly is a "prick" mark ??? Mark made by a "prick"?
  4. Awesome first post !! Looks like a fun trip. Thanks for sharing.
  5. It was fun to meet and climb with you guys as well! I've a few more pics up here. Didn't get (m)any cool ones thanks to the overcast conditions.
  6. Just a quick update on the conditions: the runnels were not in as on Sunday. A strong team couldn't make it up, and we decided to take the bypass rather than wait to be the third in line to try the runnels. Ultimately, all four teams took the bypass. There was a small patch of ice at the entrance of the route, and a smear here and there on the bypass, and again on the exit pitch out of the second couloir. We could not place any screws though. One of the teams dislodged a huge block that was loose just before where the rap anchor to drop down to the second couloir is. This block was a disaster waiting to happen, and luckily, no damage was done. It would've been more fun had the runnels been in, but the route is in good shape otherwise. PS: I'm trying to get pics from the others - may be a TR will follow then.
  7. On Sunday (Apr 8). Four teams of two persons each were on the route (three of the teams doing it car-to-car). Coordinate well we did, and loads of fun we had .
  8. Great pictures Gary! Thanks much for sharing.
  9. SummitPost has a Gear Review page.. folks could consider adding stuff there rather than reinvent the wheel.
  10. Wow!!! Was there a climbing party on those ropes when the slide happened?
  11. Awesome job!! Good luck with those frsotnipped digits .
  12. I noticed that the picture was possibly from Chair Pk, isn't it? I thought if Dan was out there in L'worth, he should've been out climbing. Well.. get back on the rock soon if you haven't yet Dan!
  13. Glad to see you're back on the rocks Dan .
  14. mmMMMM MMMMmm Bitch!! So, are you looking to do a (single) long trip? If you're looking for two/three dayers, I might be up for one.
  15. Could someone post a link to the poll itself? I browsed katu.com, but couldn't locate the poll. Edited to add: Found it. Thanks!
  16. Work sucks donkey balls skull .
  17. Yeah.. Mozilla from a Linux (Fedora Core to be exact) machine. Prefer free stuff that actually is better than Windoze, for which you've to shell out the mint .
  18. I couldn't see the photos either, but figured out what was wrong (the '\' had to be changed to '/' in your html code). Here are the pics.. Good job, and purty pics . Edited to add: Looks like jstreet has fixed the problems in his original post. Pictures have been deleted from this post.
  19. I got my only down jacket from Campmor four years back (if I remember correctly, I paid $65 odd at that time). It is the same jacket that Jens picked out, may be an older version. It has worked great for me so far, and looks like I'll be using it at least for a few more years. It does not have a hood, but has been adequate for most cold conditions I've been in. I've bought a lot of my gear from Campmor. They always have awesome deals. Of course they do not carry much of climbing gear.
  20. Schweet!! Great read as usual Ryan . I need to learn so ski properly some time .
  21. Details are up at the SummitPost page.
  22. Well deserved! Way to go Wayne .
