How about "money equals speech"? i don't quite understand your reply, but an interesting news-bit (didn't see context, form of questions, etc): 57% of americans support a corporation's right to spend as they like inre elections.
-
anyone care to posit on Move to Amend's charge above?
-
i'm sure scalia's constructionism and originalism indicate that the founding fathers were profoundly in favor of granting corporations person-hood.
-
ummm, does anyone here think that corporations should be granted individual rights protected by the constitution? fairweather, kkk, anyone?
-
dude, it's a good birth control method, better than the pill. plus we already had a kid, hah. we aren't into big litters, like those outta control east-siders.

yeah being cold comes with the territory, but being a sporto wimp, i'll be clad in two down coats and a propane heater nearby (in july). i'm 6'1" btw, with a smallish to medium frame. i consistently weighed in the mid 150's through my early 30's, dropping to 146 (yikes) for a short period. yeah i was pretty lean, but compare to some others: ondra 130 and 6', sharma what 155 and 6', local kid who's 6' and around 130....but i think it mainly comes down to body fat % as to how healthily one can exist at a particular weight, with ~3% being minimum or so i read.
-
well i'm 173 now at 13.6. that's what, 23 pounds of fat. it's said(?) that you lose closer to 1.5 pounds of weight for every pound of fat you lose, cuz of interstitial water loss associated with fat storage. so dropping 9% of my body fat would drop my weight what, approximately 22 pounds or so? leaving me a little under 5%. yeah that's kinda low, but i'm interested enough to work towards it.... i don't know how long haston was on his low cal diet. i would imagine there would be days of that.... march or april is when i'd like to hit it, so i have some time, and i know i can hit 170 in two days, leaving me 15 pounds to go (i think 155 is a realistic goal).

49 bucks at downtown 24 hour fitness. you'll have to call about when holmes comes back (i think he's there first week of every month). yeah kinda interesting to find out i could safely lose 20 pounds.
-
man, i've had some pretty good adventures hitching and riding the rails around the coastal states. wouldn't trade those memories for anything. hopping the rails is i think way safer than hitching, but you don't have that option cuz the train just keeps on chuggin' through index (i know; i've rode a grain car from everett through the loooong ass tunnel under stevens pass to wenatchee. no stops along the way). i have no idea how safe hitching is nowadays. i'd have to imagine it ain't much different than it used to be. i do see people hitching along hiway 2 all the time, so i'd imagine it's a pretty regular form of travel for some of the locals.

climbing useful exercises for circuit training
Kimmo replied to genepires's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
if yer already climbing 5.10 and already climbing the difficulty you enjoy in the mountains, i'd imagine it wouldn't take much to keep you there. a few runs a week with hill or stair intervals, some finger tip pull-ups three sets three times a week (and various other pull-up type activities, including intervals), and your usual activity....oh and keeping the weight down. i'd kinda think that would do it. maintenance is a heck of a lot easier than improvement. -
close pilchuck, but a little high. whereas rumr evidently has a mole: 13.6%. do you know what this means, rumr? i've got the potential to be pretty damn light! and if i'm climbing what i'm climbing at close to 20 pounds heavier than i could healthily be....

as you will surely note, i prefaced my query with "i'm not sure". we are also not talking exclusively of 1st amendment rights either, although i guess it answers implicitly the question you didn't answer explicitly above (yes i did note the thread title, but the corporate/union entry expands the parameters).
-
And how about labor unions? i'm not sure exactly what legal rights you are referring to.... i'm also not sure that corporations and labor unions should enjoy the same legal protections and rights, since the aims of both (generally) differ so greatly. maybe seems like comparing apples and oranges a little bit, but i'd like to hear what you mean with your question above....
-
don't jump to conclusions, buddy. how ludicrous is it to give friggin corporations individual legal rights? and yeah, if'n you think it's all good to lie in order to get what you want, then go for it. i wish your wife and daughter well!
-
which part isn't complicated? i'm sure your voice at cascadeclimbers does a hell of a lot more than does the aclu in rescuing the poor helpless americans from the grips of those darn republicano corporatists. but i'm sure you get to call yourself a purist when you're hittin on that sexy co-ed touting her communist credentials at the weekend dorm party.
-
you will postitively not guess what i tested at. but go ahead and try.
-
thanks. i think it's probably the same guy who came to 24 hour fitness, where i had mine done a couple of weeks ago.
-
i think lance armstrong was back on his bike in a few weeks after breaking his clavicle in a few places. his was surgically pinned; sounds like you'll be having that too.... 4 to 6 weeks before climbing again, i'd guess?

did anyone here catch the scotch festival at the rainier club i think it was? i thought it was coming up in march, but alas, it was last friday. 80 specialty scotches and a dinner. kinda funny: business attire required.
-
if your scotch lasts a year, spring for the two listed above. i don't know how well these last after opening (i read the glenlivet 18 lasts well), but definitely worth it if you are a light drinker. why scrimp and save a couple of dollars a month, literally, and have something that allows for such a shallower enjoyment? then again, the two above are the highest price point scotches i have tasted; what awaits me further down this beautifully cursed road?

so check this out: i hate the laphroaig (10, at least), but i fell in love with the lagavulin 16. there is no comparison between the two. yeah they both have peat smoke, but man, there's a difference between peat smoke and rubbing alcohol (laphroaig 10) and peat smoke and sublime sophisticated delicacy (lagavulin 16). wow. and for the glenlivet: the 18 is worlds more subtle, delicate, floral, smooth etc than the 15. worth the extra 20 bucks for sure. especially if you don't have a bottle a day habit.
-
non-partisan? i think he votes repub every time.
-
so what is "dogging"? i thought it meant to weight the pro and then continue upward rather than lowering back to the start and beginning again. i guess weighting the pro "slightly" doesn't count as dogging but nevertheless invalidates the ascent? In the words of our resident necrophagist: "BOOOOOOOO."
-
yeah that was posted in another thread above. amazing stuff. he could probably right now, without having ever rock climbed, find a situation that exploited his strengths, and it would be V15. or 16. 17?

As I don't consult nor follow the kabbalah, I really don't care. Perhaps you can ask this guy: P.S. You're constant bringing up of Jews and Judaism in your personal attacks is naive, noteworthy and disturbing. "personal attacks"? oh how you've misread me. I simply adore your wiley and mysterious ways. and my bad about the cabalah thing. i thought that you were jewish or a jewish wannabe, cuz of all the rabbi fotos you had posted before. inshallah!
