  1. I may post a TR tomorrow - I've got some pic's (of the formation anyway). I'd like to ask dan wut he's done on it. Its good rock and good features.
  2. They should just burn the fat people in the basement for electricity to power the store.
  3. Some. Probably depends on snow level, time of year. I do recollect it being described as easy 5th class, but it was harder - at least the way we went.
  4. I've climbed it. Good route. Straight forward. As I remember it pretty much stays in one dihedral most of the way. A bit licheny but good rock. Thats all you need to know.
  5. Whats wrong with falling on good gear? How would you ever climb anything harder that 5.7 if you don't commit to a move above atleast good gear?
  6. AND Fern knows how to weld! Those pics of the Black Canyon are rad.
  7. I use a Camelback brand one for everything including climbing. Its my second one and has worked well, the only drawback is the threads on the mouth can get sticky and are hard to open. My partner uses a platypus one that has a ziplock type closure which is cool b/c the whole bag opens for ease of cleaning and filling. Though it seems like it would pop open by itself, apparently is doesn't and he likes it. Whatever you get, I'd get an additional valve closure if its not included instead of a bite valve b/c its more secure.
  8. I fucking HATE it when they just die on you like that. Lame! Glad you got some climbing in anyway though!
  9. Sick Fern, I'm so jealous. It was great catching up with you guys on your way home.
  10. Nice. What a great setting for a fun climb. Glad you went down the west ridge instead of the south face like some parties have done.
  11. Does this ass make my rack look big?
  12. Nice. We were up in the area - Temple Canyon - on Sunday too. I think the Enchantments are ugly though.
  13. Wow. Hardmen coming out of the woodwork. I've heard varying things about this route, that its primarily 11a with some hard 11 in one or two spots. Also heard its consistent hard 11 with some 12. What are your opinions? Regardless, it seems worth doing, even for a non 5.12 climber like me, since good pro and good rock.
  14. That's what I said, don't camp at Blue Lake.
  15. I am going to lead a 50 - person group solo of Diedre this summer. We're going to get a chain type of deal going where each climber will cycle through, do the descent and then start climbing again staying no more than five feet behind the person in front of them.
  16. Well, whatever it is we climbed it Sunday. Good rock, fun route. Wonder who else has been on the south face?
  17. How 'bout camping at Blue Lake or somewhere near the basin thats just a bit out of the way and inconspicuous.
  18. Ha! In the ten essential sidebar, the most important essential - selecting the proper pixel count, physical size, and resolution for digital photography was left out!!
