Very cool adventure! I've wanted to camp on top for years now...but I can't seem to make it all the way, for one reason or another...I'm 3 for 6 now. I think one more try before I hit 50! (two more years!)

Try somewhere near Monte Cristo, I think that's one of the Stilagumish forks. drive to Barlow pass and walk up the road, there are several old state camp grounds along the river. good enough for fishing and dipping
