so now youve got a single alpine rope, which is fairly pointless since you most often need two, its 2 pounds heavier, takes 2/3 less falls and cost the same as two ropes..? I love my twins

the climb is one hard move 5 feet off the ground then its 30 feet of 5.0 climbing...and the start isnt even the same since the dirt is so eroded..kinda like crime of the century..

ya I just read that as well, weird that people dont know that what they are using is a belay device and that an ATC, Figure 8's, Reverso's...are types of those. I cant believe the Ranger would say that, unless I am completly mistaken on this terminology.

A reverso I thought, not an ATC..? if she was using a twin rope on a reverso...then she was using the device in a way the manufacturer never designed it for as it says only for half or single ropes.

Considering the web site says 8mm is fine for the reverso..shouldnt there be either a recall or some sort of saftey bulletin issued? or did she not have it set up properly..or was she using a twin..? any idea?

Really...? I have been using a regualr ATC since I started climbing and I pretty much only climb on twins and halfs.. in fact Black diamond says the ATC is good to 7.7mm... Black Diamond just the regular 18 dollar ATC 7.7-11mm
