    Ingalls

    As of last sunday (4-10), couldn't even get as far as the Iron Peak trailhead with a 4runner. Could be better now, but probably not.

    I agree. Kautz is a good alternative. It was not icy mid-July last year, but this year may be a whole new ballgame. Using the search engine on this board will also provide you with lots of info. on any route you are considering. Good luck!

  14. Great story, dkemp. I also agree that the Tieton is awesome. Best route IMHO is Inca Roads I haven't led it.....yet.
  15. the chute you are referring to was not melted out as of 7-11-04, but the lower section was going fast. we used 2 ice screws in the main route chute for running belays. This may or may not seem necessary based on your comfort level as there are some smallish crevasses on the lower pitch.
