while not wifie, got the gfriend snow shovel and probe so she can dig my butt out if I get in a slide. Guess that would be a gift for her that is really for me.
Plastics don't break in. More like your feet get broken in to the boot and the liner packs out. Take note were you get blisters and tape up those spots ahead of time. I do this everytime in my AT boots and my feet are happier for it.
a fee to hike the hill. NO WAY. One of the reasons I got AT gear is that I did not have to pay to ski. If they are really going to do this the next step is to stop people who don't ski the resort from parking in thier lots. I guess the FS is going to have to open more snow parks or alow those of use to skin to park along the highways.
The narrower skins would work fine if you were heading STRAIGHT up hill and that almost never happens. If you did any side hilling you would have major problems. My G-friend found this out the hard way and ended up boot up the hill.
You want your skins to be wall to wall so to speak for the best performance.
Being a member helps but even as a non-member you still have a chance on getting in. They really want to see if you are an active climber and be sure to sign in early as they will use this as well.
not likely. Most of those people who want to skin Bachie are just getting in a lap prior to work or just have a few hours free. Besides they have other terrain to hit before they reach hood.
In the past when I have gone to check things out I was able to park on the gravel road. Also just past the road to Jefferson there is a wide spot on the highway I have parked as well.
hope some one thought it was left there and you get your gear back. I have often thought about the theft factor when leaving my gear on the ground. But what are you going to do? Tag it up off the ground and leave it half way up the route?
Fingers crossed for ya man!!
