  1. My first time up there. That is why the Q.
  2. can I park at Narda Falls for this weekend? Do they plow that out? Thanks letsroll
  3. ya right not what you think. I have been using brownrice syrup for the past year. It works great in the summer, but when the temps dip it is near impossible to get out of the container. Are there any ideas on how to made it more viscus at lower temps? Brand name GU does not seem to be effected as much. What do they use? Thanks
  4. BrittEasterly, what makes the stuff sack so long? The poles? Wondering why the packed length is 18 inches vers 8 inches for the bugaboo.
  5. I am looking for a bivi sack. I did a search and looked at the posts. I have decided I am looking for a bivi sack with bug netting, some kind of wire to keep the fabric off the face and will close up so that your face is not exposed to the wind/weather. I have several gift cards to REI and the dividend so I am going to limit my choices to what REI sells. The two choices are both ID bags. First the EVENT Bugaboo, and then the EVENT UniShelter. I would go for the Bugaboo but the center zip idea seems suspect to me. Has anybody had any experience with this (don't plan on using in rain). I am 6 ft. 5 in. so the length on both seems ok. Also the bugaboo is lighter than the unishelter. It is just the center zip that has me worried about getting into and out of the bag as well if it does sprinkle what the leakage would be like. Thanks for your help.
  6. I knew I was forgetting something at basecamp. That is going on the gear list....lol. Don't want to miss out on getting "sick."
  7. sorry did not check this post before I left. I was there and it was a good show. Mike is quite the character.
  8. I assumed it was the Exped. But been wrong before.
  9. tomtom get out there and use it, then post a review. I would be interested. I will have to say in the end I most likely will end up with an MK3 for my 6.5 ft frame. But damn that nemo looks nice.
  10. I thought event was no longer allowing tents to be made out of the material?
  11. can you say freshies this weekend?....lol
  12. you can sled to the edge of the wilderness, close to the crater. Not into the crater. Very well marked.
  13. What you did not like the cuddle on the sled. I thought it was good for you like it was good for me....lol. It was fun route. On the short side but for a quickie, much fun. Really wish we had a camera to take pics of all the possible lines in the crater. I will say taking the sled was money!!! Jlag, good climb. Had a blast.
  14. hold on onw. not all of us are cheap ass wankers, that invite bad karma by not paying our bills for services rendered. If we find out who they are a beat down shall be forth coming.
  15. look for battery life. I have the 76s and it sucks butt when it gets cold. Can hardly use it, and most of the time that is when you need it. At least for me.
  16. What time does the gate open? 8 am or so?
  17. Going up to Rainier for the first time. Looking at doing the Ingraham-Disappointment route. Was wondering what the ski decent is like off the summit? Would it even be worth it to pack the skis to the summit? Plan on skinning to Camp Muir no matter what.
  18. Ncie trip. Looks like a sweet weekend.
  19. Ya nice pics. NF looks sweet.
  20. Also was up last night. Went up to crater rock. Skinned to about 500 ft below base. Ski crampons would have been great. Bomber conditions. Solid snow. Really windy last night. Ski down at sunset on hard snow/ice. But all in all it was not as bad as I thought it would have been. Get your climb on this weekend. Heading to Leuthold on Sat.
  21. very nice blog. Thanks for getting the info out there. Can't wait till things quiet down a bit for a summit attempt.
