  1. No big deal, buf fucking frustrating...we just planted lots of $$$ worth of plants in our front yard, and people are stealing them. We're planning on moving the remaining ones away, but I doubt that the cops will help. Just doesn't seem like it'd be a priority to them. Ideas? I might shine a worklight on the area to help deter it at night, but what lengths are legal to catch someone in the act? I'd love to threaten someone with physical harm, but that probably wouldn't go over too well.
  2. Gary- Looks like you saved the Green from the more exposed photo, and then turned up the blues for the sky. Looks vivid; sorry if this is a layman's analytical view; I only have Infranview, and haven't gotten that far with experimenting yet (though I'm looking forward to what my new Fuji F30 will do)

I can imagine throwing that thing up, and taking my jaw off...or creating a serious back injury. Good on you, though! I think If I asked, those big guys would laugh their ass off at me (as they fell down drunk.) The bagpipes are entertaining, though
  4. You "feeling Minnesota" types wouldn't understand. Isn't it about time to start up a usual, Tuesday night dry tool night again?
  5. I think this guy is Donny Baker.
  6. Cool and viscious. Looks like the Monopoint is well backed by very aggressive secondaries. The accordion thing seems silly, though.
  7. Very nice pics and TR. Looks like you turned up the saturation nicely on the photos; that last one of the South Side of Stuart is nice and green
  8. Finally got a hold of Breaking Point by Glenn Randall. Fantastic, although short, read.
  9. Well, I'll be damned. Looks ALOT like the G14. I suppose that's why Mountain Gear is closing out the Bionics, eh?
  10. They have any veggie stuff there? Fish is okay, but I'm leavin' chicken and beef off the roster these days...
  11. "Northwest hardpeople"? Man, he's drinking Corona... Does look like a fun time, though.
  12. Good job- don't hear too much of this one! Sounds like a sustained solo outing.

What Pet Owners Are Saying About: Neutering With NEUTICLES® "I've put off neutering "Crooked Joe" for months and when I found out about Neuticles and spoke to them it made me feel better about neutering. Joe not only looks the same now- but dosen't know he's missing anything." Jeff Lane Oak Park, Ill "He's a guy and I wanted him to remain looking like one." Lane Hinderman Metairie, Louisiana "Baby Snow has all the benefits of being neutered-Neuticles are just a whole lot nicer." Stephen Samual Redcliff, KY "Neuticles were the absolute least I could do." Glenda Nelson Spring, TX "Frodo never knew he lost anything and is just a happier little dog since he's been neutered with Neuticles." Janell Suasser San Lorenzo, CA "The old way of neutering is 200 years old- Neuticles is about 199 years overdue!" Eric Leven Tampa Bay, FL "A dog is like a kid- consideration for his feelings." Greg Samual Fresno, CA "Just call me a caring pet owner." Trish Fischer Anchorage, Alaska
  14. Haha, cute. I don't really get into the "Jeep thing", either. I reserve that for the CJ/XJ guys. Nice truck, btw. I just don't think I'd like the payments
  15. Here's what I own. Parts are dirt cheap, 21 mpg, 132,000 trouble free miles thus far, and it's gotten me up the Cloud Cap road in December when others were getting easily stuck. They don't have the interior space that you can get with a Toyota pickup (making the rear box into climber's quarters, that is), but the price to get one, at well less than 6000 bucks, is much cheaper than a Toyota.
  16. After doing the C-D route with a group of friends, two of the guys (their first time ice climbing) and I went down to the lower glacier last weekend. We didn't have much time, but we did find a good crevasse not too far from the moraine trail with good platform on top for an anchor. A bit dirty, but still good. The ice inside wasn't drippy at all (soft, of course). Good vertical fun.
  17. I'm planning on heading to the area this year; everyone I've talked to seemed to think that late August, or September, are good months to go. Depends on year-to-year, I'd imagine; from what I saw last time I went to live the vision, it wasn't updated much, or it wasn't a very active board.

    Chillout Music

Martin, Medeski and Wood. Any of it. The in side from the way out...Beastie Boys. Soulive, just about any of it, works real good.
  19. Hey, Blake, I don't know how unique it is, but a few years back, I picked up a pair of Gramicci swim trunks. They're nylon/quickdry (obviously), comfortable to hike in (double use as underwear and shorts), have a cinch waist, and don't seem to bunch up too badly if I have a heavier pair of, say, Scholler pants over top of them for a colder summit day. They let the boys breathe nicely
  20. Classic!
  21. Hey, Matt- I just ordered a Fuijifilm F30. Just came out in the last month or so. 6.3 MP, goes up to 3200 ISO, and has image stabilization. I found the mandatory card (1GB) on sale for 39.99 from outpost.com. It weight 155 grams, and the battery life is for 550+ shots, the top of its class. It does use a proprietary battery, but the battery power reviews have indeed been raved about. Also, to combat the cold temp thing on an alpine climb, I put it on a neck lanyard, and keep it inside my jacket. I find a stance, pull out the camera, and fire away. It's back in the jacket before it has a chance to get too cold (this is with my current Pentax Optio S50 that just developed a problem. That camera does use AAs.) I'll let you know how it goes, but it looks very, very promising. -Chad
  22. Human crayon...nice. Never heard that one before, heheh.
  23. Wow, very nice...a continuing TR and hotspot report for Peru! Very nice! Thanks for posting. Sounds like the mountains are doing quite well down there this year (route conditions, etc.)
  24. Oh, yum. Inspirational
  25. Wow, shitty. Never heard of that happening before. Great, the Exit 38 thiefs are making their way to the flanks of Rainier.
