  1. I've seen pine martens myself, and I have talked to folks who've seen wolverines along Bridge Creek, but I was under the impression that the Fisher didn't live in that area. When did you see it?
  2. Nobody ever sees a small bear. For the record, I don't beleive there are resident Grizzlies in WA. Very rarely one may cross the border for a few days or soemthing if it's lost.

  16. huh... i don't know if it is true or not, but I heard that they amount of energy needed to digest that crap exceeds the amount provided by eating it. I doubt that, i think there are quite a few calories in a cup-o-noodles. On a semi-related note, what do you all do for butter in the BC? a bunch of the camp foods i bring all call for butter in the recipe.
  17. Which way is the water draining? In the North Cascades, if the water eventually flows by the Tri-cities, it came from the east side. If it eventually flows into the saltwater north of Seattle, its from the we(s)t side.
  18. I want to do quite a bit of trail running/jogging this summer in the NCNP to stay in shape without access to a gym. Never really done this very much before though. Any advice for a little pack that I could stick water, a powerbar, and maybe an extra shirt or mp3 player into that wouldn't bounce all around on me? (maybe just like a small hip pack?) Do they even make these things? Any shoe or other recomendations? Thanks

  21. Actually, Fast absorbing protien like Whey or Casein, especially mixed in a shake with the right 2-1 Carbs-Protein ratio, is absorbed by the muscle and helps prevent catabolism sooner than 1.5 hours.
  22. There are 3500 Calories in one lb of fat. So you need to eat 500 calories over maintenance to gain one lb in one week. (part of this gain will probably be non-fat as well). IF you try to gain too much too fast it's gets pretty hard.

    Lance Is Back!

    Pro cyclists aslo have fairly good hams and glutes. Riding clipless recruits more muscles than normal peddles. I think that those guys would have respectable deadlifts.
