I don't know about that particular phone, but GSM in general (I've used T-mobile and AT&T GSM) has pretty crappy coverage. Don't expect to be using out in the sticks...it is mostly for in-city or major corridor usage only.

Saw the pics and as funny as it would be if it was as a reciever, it is probably more likely that it is some sort of body armor to protect him from evil doers.
