I'm sure that was it. Jon and I really need to get off this steaming pile of UBB and on to a modern platform.

Reading about him, seems like the world needs more people like him, not less. What a shit winter, at least for the PNW. -
I wonder how many people in the world can climb 5.14c? Let alone at that age. Pretty awesome accomplishment for a kid, will be cool to see what he does next.

You do seem to be a bit of an asshole. I don't mean that in a bad way. I mean it in the best possible way. I'm sure you're a nice and well adjusted person, but you enjoy this online bad guy thing. The climbers I know are (just a small sampling): 1. transient coupon clipper who owns his own home 2. arborist 3. fireman 4. teacher 5. carpenter 6. a self described derelict 7. a Canadian All of them are complete losers, dirtbags, and pretty much the bottom dwellers. This is why I know them. And ya, they are all pretty bad ass. They don't have time for your shit.

[TR] Tragedy at Alpental - Kiddie Cliff 12/3/2014

thank you for sharing your story. i wish you the best for recovering. when you say "see you on the water"...does that mean you will be kayaking, or? I've been learning to sail myself, love it. Lots of good adventures ahead man. -
Having done this before in spring (but with spending the night at the lake and sleeping in), to do it on a shorter winter day...all I can say is impressive. Such a beautiful area, especially after you hit the lake. I've always wanted to go to the left and up after the lake and check out where that plane crashed. Congrats on the climb and endurance to pull that off! You've got to have some fitness, that trail up is fun!

I like it there, but I can't answer your questions since I have never lived there. Side question for those who have: is the mountain biking there decent? I know there is a trail system there, and I've been meaning to check it out. Anacortes is in the the same sort of "rain shadow" that Sequim is in. Thus it is often dry or drier there when it is wet everywhere else on the west side of the mountains. That goes for climbing and whatever else...I'm curious if the mtn biking is worth a trip when everything else is getting wet. As far as the climbing, I've only been there three times. One thing it does have going for it: the views are stunning.

This is pretty awesome. Cool to see both these guys succeed, but even cooler to see Colin mentor up Marc, who has been to me almost since he started posting here, an obvious talent. I hope this isn't the last time we see these two pushing the envelope together.

The fault lies not with the mob, who demands nonsense, but with those who do not know how to produce anything else.
