  1. Having done this before in spring (but with spending the night at the lake and sleeping in), to do it on a shorter winter day...all I can say is impressive. Such a beautiful area, especially after you hit the lake. I've always wanted to go to the left and up after the lake and check out where that plane crashed. Congrats on the climb and endurance to pull that off! You've got to have some fitness, that trail up is fun!

  3. I like it there, but I can't answer your questions since I have never lived there. Side question for those who have: is the mountain biking there decent? I know there is a trail system there, and I've been meaning to check it out. Anacortes is in the the same sort of "rain shadow" that Sequim is in. Thus it is often dry or drier there when it is wet everywhere else on the west side of the mountains. That goes for climbing and whatever else...I'm curious if the mtn biking is worth a trip when everything else is getting wet. As far as the climbing, I've only been there three times. One thing it does have going for it: the views are stunning.
  4. This is pretty awesome. Cool to see both these guys succeed, but even cooler to see Colin mentor up Marc, who has been to me almost since he started posting here, an obvious talent. I hope this isn't the last time we see these two pushing the envelope together.
  5. The fault lies not with the mob, who demands nonsense, but with those who do not know how to produce anything else.

  7. We could all move to Tacoma and make it a social utopia with free healthcare and government jobs for all.
  8. this thread is hilarious. Seattle vs Tacoma. How about Seattle vs Spokane? Or Tacoma vs Kennewick?

  10. But Tommy is experienced in pushing people off a cliff in a desperate situation. So you have to give him that.
  11. lol, yes. better than being a sick dawg.
  12. congress entity. they may not be human or a personage. they may be a corporation.
  13. pretty sure sure seattle is actually closer to skiing and climbing. how long is the drive (on a normal day) to skiing for you? How close are you to climbing? How about climbing on granite? How close is it to Index? I do understand...you've got to make a case that you've made a good choice. I think you have! If you actually love it there, that is. But if a free market person is to speak, then let the free market speak. Clearly Tacoma is less popular. If less popular is what you seek, then you won. Congrats. I don't think where I live is better because it is more popular though.
  14. Jesus you hit a nerve with this thread!!!! Feeling so inadequate. Well, at least I don't live in Tacoma.
  15. yeah public radio...what a scourge.

  22. no....no you aren't. you are a the owner of a Stradivarius who insists on playing the same note over and over again instead of playing music.
  23. Well, definitely NOT working. Well, i understand where you're coming from. I mean there is no sheep backed up against a cliff's edge and all. How could it be funny?
  24. Tacoma wins the "closest to volcano" prize
  25. Climbing gyms? Proximity to good climbing locales? Restaurants? Seattle does not have the EQC, to which I've never been, but maybe it is good? And Tacoma still has a dome! How lucky is that?
