Anyone use these instructions to fit their intuition liners? Any points missed in the video. I also just got a pair of these in the mail. What a company! Sent me the liners, said they would invoice me for them once I got them. Debating whether to take these to Custom Boot service in Ballard or to just do it myself.

Did you clone this creation in your bathtub? It looks like a white rat crossed with a raccoon!

probably because he put the pictures onto this site, so they had to be both reduced in actual size and compressed. I'm very sure that the orginal pictures don't have this problem. Luke, are you taking pictures in RAW or JPG?

or...if you give the site admins money, they let you change it yourself. If you like the site, maybe you should consider it. Otherwise, polish away if the title means something to you.

[TR] Rainier- attempt on Fuhrer Finger 12/29/2004

Good effort guys. A whole new year of climbing ahead of us. Plenty of time left to make another winter try. As always, any pics? -
Hip-hop smoothed out on the R&B tip with a pop feel.

Great weather for making icecream!

I'm off by a year, because this came out in late October of 2003, but my favorite album I bought in 2004 was Shins 'Chutes Too Narrow'.

So, it has nothing to do with elevation, and everything to do with temp.? Thanks for the info. Mods, feel free to move this to the Newbie section.

Great pictures Zach.

There are always going to be player haters Erden. Just keep on keeping on. There are plenty of others who appreciate and admire your efforts, even if just vicariously.

My dad is there right now (he didn't even notice the earthquake). He is working on a container ship that is currently in dry dock. If you have any specific questions, he has been there a number of times, and I'll pass them on...however he hasn't been there on non-work time.

At what elevation would you not bring a canister stove and go with a liquid fuel stove?

Hi Todd, How long did it take for you to do all four? I take you guided other up? What is the best time of year to climb them? Thanks.

Lets make Rainier more climber friendly.

At seems to me that Mike & Co. are just presenting a single interface for you to have a dialogue with. Mike has, in this thread, made multiple attempts to answers questions and provide information. It doesn't seem like the door has been closed on this thread, and I'm betting if you have something further to say about an issue Mike will respond. -
I have an extra PCMCIA CF card reader at home you can have (provided you have a laptop with a PCMCIA slot). Otherwise just get a cheap USB CF reader.

What does the procedure cost? I've been thinking about getting it done so I can go surfing without worrying about washing out my contacts or losing a pair of glasses. I did hear it was much cheaper than down here. Do they provide their "success rate" data?

altimeters: wrist vs carabiner/clip-on style
olyclimber replied to jonmcd's topic in The Gear Critic
I've had both (a Brunton Sherpa and a bling, bling old school Thommen ) and I currently have a Suunto Altimax. The Sherpa was more accurate (both resolution wise as well as reading the correct temprature/elevation). Of course you're going to have to continuely adjust any barometric altimeter. One thing for sure, the Suunto Altimax doesn't give you a good temperature reading when wearing the watch next to your skin (to be expected, and mentioned in the user manual). You body's heat makes it impossible to take an accurate measure of the environmental temp outside unless you take the watch off. You can just make a lanyard for the thing and hang it around your neck like Flavor Flav (not inside your clothes. This is going to give you the most accurate temp reading. Accurate altitude measurements are a factor of how accurate your altimeter is dialed in, if the barometric pressures are changing rapidly, and the resolution of the device. -

Good point. I'll wear a coat and go for it.

Nice work Jason! I would love to see some pictures if you took any!

There is a reason it is called a belay loop. It is there for belaying. While it depends on the make/model of the harness, it may or may not be stronger to loop through "tie-ins" when tying in (you're looping through two straps rather than the single belay loop, so it sort of distributes any load). If you look at the design of the harness, it you may actually be able to belay through the "tie-ins" or only through the belay loop. Again, it is dependant on the model/make of the harness.

I'm looking for somewhere to head off to this weekend (leave Saturday afternoon, back by Monday evening). The weather reports looks like rain or snow everywhere within striking distance (Smith, Vantage). Any other suggestions, other than giving up on it and go snowboarding instead?
