  1. Metolius just sent me a couple of these new Master Cams to check out. They look like really nice, I'd have to say comparing to them to aliens they look great. I'll write some details and post some pictures side by side with some aliens soon. I like the design, I think they look like a great new option for an alien sized cam. Of course once people get to using them informed opinions might develop, but first look they seem really nicely designed. Also Integral Designs sent me a bivy sack design they are trying out, so I'll share what thats all about here soon.

  18. this is not an answer or argument to your question Fairweather, but I have had several opportunities to take a "state job" that would promised "job security" or "good benefits"....but always at a lower rate than what the private sector had to offer. I have always taken the "risk" associated with the private sector jobs, because I enjoy the faster pace and higher pay associated. its really more of an observation: in my experience state jobs afford more job security, but lower pay. some people seem to like that sort of job, and gravitate to the slower paced but perhaps more "guaranteed" state positions. this is not an argument for or against either, nor do i know if it has anything to do with what prole and you were discussing.
  19. I would be in favor of automated toll booths that deals with cheaters/non-payers/counterfeiters by sending ROBOSAURUS after them on non-payment. While this might fall into the "unrealistic" category, keep in mind that ROBOSAURUS was recently for sale and should come pretty cheap.
  20. Well then you have to support the automated toll booth industry! I think its probably cheaper just to pay that toll booth attendant
  21. Wow, I can't imagine going to a Bank officer and saying..."hey, I need $4,000 so I can put up this new route". Maybe if you were going to have a toll booth to get on the route....
  22. John, what are you using to automate geotagging on your photos going forward? A GPS with time synch so you can synch it with the camera time? I use a Mac...this is one possibility: http://oregonstate.edu/~earlyj/gpsphotolinker/ Any other interesting possibilities?
  23. There is a simple solution Jay! Reallocation of resources by the Man. What other solution is there? Do tell!
