  7. yeah, a landslide. called on june 6th. the polling shows a statistical dead heat. that doesn't bode well for Obamalamadingdong QUIT IT WITH YOUR NAME CALLING. IT HURTS ME PERSONALLY. lol. but perhaps you did not cringe watching mccain's kickoff to the general election (i.e. the subject of this thread)? that would appear to support the reverse of your statement...but i'm sure mccain will stop using the green backdrop and saying "change" all the time.
  8. Rojer S., Index is for us locals only. Don't go telling everyone...oops too late. Nice pics of Beckey on the back page!
  9. "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno." as tasteless jokes go, that isn't so bad. is mccain secretly still a maverick????? thats the only explanation.
  10. personally i think it is more than 5 people gathering in one place that is causing global warming. that and all the flags that are getting burnt.
  11. well i remember having more respect for mccain than i do now. he seems to have pulled out all the stops in order to become president (maybe that is just what it takes). he seems to have gone from someone who wasn't afraid to take a stand on a particular issue, who wasn't afraid to differ from the crowd if he believed in it, who was even labeled a "maverick". now he seems to have changed his stance on everything (latest is wiretapping) so as to conform to whatever his advisers tell him will help him get the most votes. regardless of his valor and integrity as a soldier, his actions and talk as of late indicate that he isn't really the maverick that people thought he was. i'm not sure what that says about his character, but it doesn't appear to be a good thing. people usually like consistency and not sudden shifts into the fold that he seems to be demonstrating as of late.

  18. http://cryptome.org/usss-hands/usss-hands.htm i remember working downtown in a highrise near the Columbia Center when Bill Clinton visited that rich dudes club right by there. Since he was there for a couple of hours during the middle of the day we could look down and see snipers posted at various vantage points. They would seem to notice almost immediately if you where looking at them and would glass you with their binoculars to check you out. must be an interesting life...

  20. If Spray is all politics all the time, then perhaps google keywords will do as such. quick, start a thread about climbing.
  21. could be wrong, but the gent might actually be looking for "current conditions" which , like ice found in a whiskey glass, is a little more ephemeral than info found in a guidebook

    Iraq

scott, what is your definition of "victory in iraq"?
  23. olyclimber

    Iraq

I agree that the main focus should be "what do we do now" and less on "what exactly happened and who was to blame for it" (though that is important as well). I does appear to me that hanging on the words of OBL either way you look at it is bad policy. If he double dog dares us, who cares? And why the hell haven't we found that guy yet????
  24. how about investing in a good american companies like halliburton and KBR. http://www.boston.com/news/world/articles/2008/03/06/top_iraq_contractor_skirts_us_taxes_offshore/?page=1
