  1. is it a banger?
  2. Keep them coming @JasonG
  3. Watched it for the first time too. What struck me most was just how Marc lived. He could have been anything, but the way he lived and his focus on what was important to him. Living in a stairwell, a tent, in a snow cave. Ignoring the pressures other put on him that didn't fit with the pure vision that he had, of what he was trying to obtain. All the while just just presenting a face of goofy kindness to anyone he interacted with. Thats what I admire most about him, and wish that I could better implement into my own life....and also what I wish for my son or anyone. The level and type of climbing he was doing is something foreign to me that I can't begin to understand, and I'm sure I never will. But I can understand and admire the example that he lived outside of that.
  4. so is dougie fresh. nothing like the alpenglow! thanks for the TR, way to get after it! you need to get a chainsaw for your rig.
  5. love it. some of my best trips were total "failures". beats sitting on the couch. interesting discussion around stoves, usually people are just talking about elevation...i guess white gas is better when its really cold. the majority of the times I was in a really cold situation that what we were using. not that i've been in a ton of cold situations, but we never had a problem with white gas.
  6. Don't think I ever saw this one before from 1982. bonus shot of his junk in the killer van.
  7. don't know if this helps....not winter obv, but is the SE...
  8. Tell your brother we are sorry this happened. Moving to the main forum for more eyes....
  9. way to beat the heat!
  10. Damn! But what was the price of this avalanche and rescue?
  11. I suspect that it is related to something that Jon has to fix when he gets time! Sorry guys.
  12. i remember carrying ulee up the old Mailbox Peak trail. he peed down my back. it was memorable. he also yelled at me most of the way, telling me which way to go. the pack strategically placed his head by my ears. I think it was a Kelty. it was pretty comfortable.
  13. Still for sale
  14. buyer never came through, these are still for sale.
  15. Appreciate you sharing. Never underestimate the stoke you are providing others, and the conditions report, and all that. Nice work!
  16. sorry dude, man that sucks.
  17. Glad you made it up there, I wish I could have made it with you. This year between my mom almost passing a couple times (she didn't and is holding on great once they figured out how to keep her going), and myself (kidney stone, finally resolved with a procedure I won't share as I don't want to think about it) my summer got shot to hell. I felt lucky to go hiking on the beach the times I have. Do look forward to doing the Bowron and this fall and a November AK trip. I actually have a Sony RX100 Mark 4 I might be willing to let go of if someone is in the market. It does have an issue, like i think i may have put a crack in the screen or something. I'll have to dig it out and figure that out. Great camera though, and it was the best one a while back when I bought it for outdoor adventures i think where you need a super compact camera. I have had great look with the small Canon point and shoot cameras over the years. Mostly I'm shooting my Canon 5D Mark III, but usually don't bring it on hikes/climbs as its heavy.
  18. created it. maybe it will be used, maybe not. worth a shot.
  19. I assume you donated the ropes to the Smithsonian, if they were "game used".
