So here's my problem; her strategy and her rationalization are at complete odds with one another. She wants Florida and Michigan to count because it's the only decent honorable democratic thing to do. (Never mind that it overturns the rules in mid-game, a total no-no.) But, at the same time, the ONLY, ONLY way she can get the nomination is if enough Superdelegates can be arm-twisted, bribed, browbeaten, or cajoled into overturning the will of the voters. That ain't right now, is it? Shame on her.

I'm with Jens here. Well-placed pins are bomber, and can stay that way for a long time. Last summer on NE Buttress of J'berg my buddy fell in that skanky loose chimney. (Should have taken the solid but ackward direct line.) His stopper pulled, and 30' later an old fixed pin held him. If it weren't for that peice, things would have turned ugly real fast. Thanks to Tom Miller or Roland Tabor, or whoever pounded it in.

Here's the deal: I won a pair of new Scarpa boots in a raffle at Feathered Friends the night of Mark Westman's slide show. I've decided that based on the amount of skiing I do, that my old T2s are good 'nuff, and that there are higher priorities on the toy wish list. So I'm selling the prize certificate. The lucky purchaser can take it to FF and get fitted for a brand new pair of T2X or Matrix Magics which they will order directly from Scarpa for you. I'm asking $375, which is just about the cost of a new set of Mammut 8 x 60 ropes. Hey, the package price is $475 for these boots; such a deal! This is totally legit, so don't be bashful now.

How about shelf-life? I've heard that ropes loose a certain amount of their strength just over time, even under good storage conditions. Anyone have any objective information on this subject? Of course ther are those who just keep beating their ropes forever, but I prefer to err on the conserviative side. I'm funny that way about my ropes. How long can a gently, though well used rope be safely kept, assuming it has no cuts, the sheath is still in pretty good shape, no whippers.....

How about the NE Buttress of J-berg? Oleg tried it last year and bailed when the weather went ca-ca. I think it would actually be much worse getting off then getting up. It was in summer!

I like that little fault line between Burien and SeaTac in the first map. Must be at least 10 miles of offset. I'm surprised I didn't feel that one. Really put the hurt on property values south of the epicenter though.
