The approach to the NF of Shuksan si doable. You drive to the Mt. Baker Ski area and hike through a drainage. If there is enough snow, the walk in is cake. If there isn't it's a pretty good bushwhack.
I just put together a Lanyard using these. I found some stainless swivels online for the harness side. Everything is stainless with a Working load limit of 250+ lbs. I will post some photos later tonight.
Reading this pissed me off.
"Selling out"?
Is getting a decent paying job really selling out? I want to punch this whiny fucker in the throat. He even looks like a twat.
I won't even ask what type of late-night "internet research" led you to that amusing find you lonely, lonely mommy, you. Seems to me that a job like that would be just like guiding - turning something otherwise fun into work.
I've aided off one side of the smaller splitter type flex cams. It's pretty cool but it does not make up for easily mucked movement and a crappy expansion range.
I've recently tried to find liners. It's a difficult task.
I know you can get liners for Lowa Civettas. They are in the $150 range. If the shells are still in good condition, this may be a good option.
Pro Mountain Sports will order the liners for you.
Put some time in. I'm a big stupid fool and I figured it out in one season with a concentrated effort.
I'm no rockstar but I can get around on skis now.
