  1. Boots and crampons returned, beer appreciated. Glad to hear your climb was successful.
  2. You can't. If you are nice, you might be able to borrow some. I have Lowa Civettas that I would lend if you are in Seattle. Crampons too. fenderfour -at- yahoo -dot- com
  3. as an FYI - Some of the size 14 boots will fit a size 15 foot. I too am cursed with huge feet. Try them on before you give up. If the gear from Fromage doesn't work out send me a note. I have some size 15 Lowa Civettas and crampons you can borrow.
  4. Dachstein Mitts + old OR overmitts are the bomb.
  5. My thoughts - Get a short axe, like 55 cm or shorter. Stay in balance while you are on low angle terrain. You don't need to plunge the shaft with every step. It's only wasting energy. When it gets steep enough (you will know) plunge the shaft in for balance. BTW - I'm 6'3"
  6. FYI - Bradley Alpinist has the Fox listed. I don't know if it's in stock, but it's there. I've never used a hammer to set a picket. I turn my ice axe upside down and pound with the top of the head. My hand is on the shaft of the axe, just below(above) the head. Kind of like a potato masher. That way I can only hit the picket with the steel part of the axe.
  7. Thanks. I saw those, but I need a different toe piece. this is what I'm looking for (but not necessarily stainless)
  8. Also on that website: [video:youtube]
  9. I'm looking for the older sabretooth, either gray or black that still have life left in them. Must have toe basket (not full-step in). PM me here if you have some you are willing to part with. I may be willing to trade some used G-14's with extra front points.
  10. Somebody didn't read the rules: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/376929/READ_FIRST_Yard_Sale_Rules#Post376929 No links to E-Bay please.
  11. A quick endorsement - I bought some tools from Justin. He is very quick with shipping, and the gear was exactly as described.
  12. Not to hijack the thread... I've been climbing leashless on my Tech Wings for a few years now. The shafts already have a very aggressive angle. The horns are key for hanging on.
  13. Yes, I think you should resume climbing.
  14. Above Gib Rock on Rainier That's Argus down there.
  15. SCJB, all else aside, consider how what you post here presents you as an individual. You now have a post on a web board that paints you as homophobic. The internet is forever. If your goal is to be a hardman, you are making it difficult on yourself. These things are based on relationships with people; no one ever did it completely on their own. You are currently creating a reputation that will precede you (negatively) in the climbing world.
  16. looks like industrial fall arresting equipment int he upper right.
  17. Never let the Cluster Fuck (CF) pile up. if something is getting tangled, stacked poorly, or stuck, fix it immediately. Things don't un-fuck themselves, they only get more fucked.
  18. Mushroom pickers need to pay for their own rescue.
  19. Sorry, I made an assumption. It is possible that the action you allude to in this post is shutting up and learning something, but that wouldn't really line up well with the pattern of behavior you typically exhibit.
  20. Chopping bolts, especially bolts that have been around longer than you have been climbing and possibly longer than you have been alive is going to cause problems. Leave it be and stop trying to leave your mark on the NW climbing scene. I may have a different opinion if someone who knew what they are doing was asking the question.
  21. A big thank you to the WCC (Matt and Jonah especially), all the other volunteers, clubs and gear shops who donated time, money and swag to make it all happen.
  22. the DMB concerts usually have the most concert campers at the climbers bivy area. They don't tend to climb very much, just leave trash behind.
  23. DID YOU READ THE FRICKEN REPORT? LOOK AT LINE 1.
