For about a month I've had pain in the thumb side, top of my right hand, my wrist on the same side, and then off and on I have pain in my forearm on the top, same side. There is no pain when resting, mostly just when lifting or pulling with my wrist bent. It started after a hard bouldering session and I've been going easy on it since then. Initially I iced it and took vitamin I. I assume it's just a tendon strain of some kind, but could it be carpal tunnel or something like that? I hope not. I know I should ask a doctor, but that shit is expensive...

year end sales are hot; what's your (ice) poison?

Last year while climbing in ouray a superstar extremo alpinist showed me his modified nomic. He and a friend put the thing in a vice and pulled the whole head off, which was apparently pretty difficult, then replaced it with a head with a hammer. It swung nice too. I'd try it but I had to pay for my nomics. -

You should have stopped by and said hello, douche. I think I saw you guys. -
Well I'd definitely rather be in the mountains than clipping bolts on some slag heap. Also, I guess I'd be looking for partners too...

Word, that's kind of what I was thinking.

So it looks like I'm going to be in the Anchorage area for a wedding around August 8th. I think the wedding is actually in Girdwood. Is it worth extending my trip up there to stay and climb? I'm not familiar with the climbing in that part of Alaska.

I guess what bugs me about naming unclimbed routes is that 1. it perhaps makes people believe that the route has already been climbed and 2. that the name will enter the collective consciousness of the climbing community and thus take away from the first ascent party the right to name the route whatever they choose. But in the end I guess I don't really care enough about the issue to argue about it, so whatever.

Naming routes that you haven't climbed is lame, to say the least.

As a pro patroller at T-line, I find it unlikely that ski patrol had much to do with anything except finding your car in the parking lot. Glad you're alright.

Your mom is climbable.

My girlfriend speaks French and translated for me. They're apparently waxing on about the beauty of the mountains and their connection as partners, etc. Didn't realize that one of them got the chop until I just googled it...sad.

I didn't end up in the ER once this year. But there's still a month left.

I'm a graduate of Fort Lewis. It's a great school with some excellent professors and you can't beat Durango for climbing. I miss it...Also, out of state tuition wasn't bad at all when I was there.

Does anyone have any experience with tower climbing type work? If so how did you get started? Is it possible to get on with a company if you have no construction experience? It seems like it pays pretty well and is flexible...

Anyone have one? I can't find one.

My buddy Nathan already opened one on the Westside... Linky

It was a totally sweet event, Mark's slideshow was off the hook, people were totally psyched to be tooling around and the free beer was excellent. Thanks for putting this on guys, it was awesome!

Unless you're in New Hampshire, that place blows. (I kid, kind of) Nice TR Chris, looks sweet. -
Petzl is replacing the crampons with whatever model you want. Climb Max hooked me up with a pair of M10's. Thanks guys!!!!!!

I'll do it. (if you guys are footing the bill for me to go climbing) My main goal right now is to FINALLY after four seasons of trying complete the bunny face/nine gallon buckets linkup. I've been training pretty hard and should be ready to go in a couple months. Let me know.

My dad used to stay at that hotel when he was in town visiting until he found out there's a police substation in one of the rooms and they run the plates of every guest that checks in. Apparently quite a few arrests have been made that way... And it's next to Safari, which is quite a questionable joint. Pretty convenient having a sleezy motel next to a seedy strip club.
