Trad guy kind of seems like that guy with the dog. The unnecessary capitalization is driving me crazy. His analyses are whack. "Educating" a whole new generation of cell phone reliant backcountry travelers, awesome! I love the internet. Also, your four basic responsibilities are f-ing stupid and I don't think in 1986 (the OES thing) they had cell phones (maybe they had those sweet bag phones) or GPS. So whatever, STFU.

I know this isn't extremecascadeflyfishingbros.com, but I was wondering if anyone wants to go fly fishing with a semi-total noob sometime in the next couple of weeks, somewhere closeish to Portland. Send me a PM if interested.

Make me an offer, I need money

Never used 70 bucks, I'm in portland.

Plexus- Where abouts in Colorado? The last confirmed grizzly sighting in the San Juans was in '96. If you saw one after that year and it was in Southern Colorado you should get in touch with Dave Petersen, the guy who wrote "Ghost Grizzlies". I'm sure he'd be interested...

Nobody wants to split gas? Leaving 5/12ish?

Yo, I'm heading down to the valley leaving Portland sometime between May 10th and the 15th. Would like to find someone else who's looking to head down around that time to split gas. I'll be heading back to Portland at the end of the month. I already have partners lined up for after around the 20th, but would be into climbing until they arrive. Send me a PM if you're interested.

The mighty West Face of Mt. Tabor has a pretty good set of stairs.

I-rock was looking a bit sad as of Wednesday with the warm sunny weather. Not a sign of any ice around march madness...

Thanks for the info guys. Hey Mike, I read a little about Dequevains and it says that basically there's nothing you can do except wait? I have a friend that's a good massage therapist, I guess I'll see if I can get ahold of her...

For about a month I've had pain in the thumb side, top of my right hand, my wrist on the same side, and then off and on I have pain in my forearm on the top, same side. There is no pain when resting, mostly just when lifting or pulling with my wrist bent. It started after a hard bouldering session and I've been going easy on it since then. Initially I iced it and took vitamin I. I assume it's just a tendon strain of some kind, but could it be carpal tunnel or something like that? I hope not. I know I should ask a doctor, but that shit is expensive...

year end sales are hot; what's your (ice) poison?

Last year while climbing in ouray a superstar extremo alpinist showed me his modified nomic. He and a friend put the thing in a vice and pulled the whole head off, which was apparently pretty difficult, then replaced it with a head with a hammer. It swung nice too. I'd try it but I had to pay for my nomics. -
[TR] Mt Hood - South Side (Yes, Yet Another South Side TR) 2/26/2008

You should have stopped by and said hello, douche. I think I saw you guys. -
God, I really don't want to get rid of this thing but I kind of can't afford it right now. So if someone is interested in it I would probably be into selling it. It's a Hilti TE36A that works great, battery is in good shape, comes with a case, charger that charges a bunch of different models of Hilti batteries and a shitton of bits including a couple of 3/8". Also includes a brand new SDS chuck and a chuck that allows you to use standard drill bits. $450 gets you ready to bolt all those cracks come spring time. (you pay shipping)

Well I'd definitely rather be in the mountains than clipping bolts on some slag heap. Also, I guess I'd be looking for partners too...

Word, that's kind of what I was thinking.

So it looks like I'm going to be in the Anchorage area for a wedding around August 8th. I think the wedding is actually in Girdwood. Is it worth extending my trip up there to stay and climb? I'm not familiar with the climbing in that part of Alaska.

I guess what bugs me about naming unclimbed routes is that 1. it perhaps makes people believe that the route has already been climbed and 2. that the name will enter the collective consciousness of the climbing community and thus take away from the first ascent party the right to name the route whatever they choose. But in the end I guess I don't really care enough about the issue to argue about it, so whatever.
-
Naming routes that you haven't climbed is lame, to say the least.

How about $35?

I've got two new design, still in the packaging. $42 each.

As a pro patroller at T-line, I find it unlikely that ski patrol had much to do with anything except finding your car in the parking lot. Glad you're alright.

Your mom is climbable.

That aren't totally trashed. PM me or something.

Ryan's a really good guy, I've climbed with him and I find it HIGHLY unlikely that he would be trying to rip you off. He's been in Canada climbing since the beginning of the month. He just tried calling me tonight but I didn't get to talk to him. When I do speak with him I'll tell him he should check the site and he can respond himself.
