  1. Mr Timmy, I see that Bachy is suppose to open some lifts for Tgiving. Do you know if they will also open a portion of the nordy center? If not now when? I'm getting fat and slow and need some skating exercise.
  2. I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYONE TALK ABOUT THE FORECAST THIS WEEEK. Thank you. Gaper Jeffey
  3. Yes please spill your ticket source
  4. Wow, neat photos! Any of Snowdome or Cooper Spur? (sorry to sound like a broken record)
  5. Thanks for the response Marcus. So one could ski from say tie-in-rock to CC right?
  6. If someone could just post a recent photo of the northside of Hood from 35 that'd be perfect.
  7. Like within the past week. Can you drive all the way to Cloud Cap w/ 4 wheel drive but sans snowtires (mine aren't installed yet)? What's the snow coverage on lwr Cooper Spur (below tie-in-rock) like? Could you ski from there to the TH? Any photos? I'm not going to ask what conditions are like on Snowdome as I already know conditions are always perfect there. However how far could one ski down the Langille Crags gully? How about down the Eliot creek gully? And most importantly: if I ski into a thinly-bridged crevasse on Snowdome will my cell phone still work to call for a rescue? I'm not sure I'm going to get out this weekend, just curious. cross-posting from Oregon forum
  8. Actually I guess I'll ask: How far could one ski down the Langille Crags gully? How about down the Eliot creek gully? If I ski into a thinly-bridged crevasse on Snowdome will my cell phone work to call for a rescue?

  10. Nice photos! There's are unique looking clouds. In the first photo it looks like you photoshop'ed the dude in.
  11. What if I want to order a MILF instead of the tshirt?
  12. My Ex's:
  13. I actually hear of Fritschis breaking quite a bit, though I've never heard of broken Dynafits. I did break the toe of my Fritschis: Even though Fritschis are less durable then Dyanfits, I think the ease of entry, arguable better realese and no de-camber issue outweighs the Dynafits durability for resort skiing. I have Fritschis on the skis I primarily use at the resort, and Dynafits on the BC skis. Note this year's Freerides (and maybe the Explorers/Expresses?) I believe have a beefier toe. Ugh, I feel sort of guilty responding to these posts. I'll try to stop gear sprayin' now.
  14. Just so we're clear, those that don't like the springs have you had one in each binding or two? I do use the "snap" kickturn that Ziff is referring to, I actually found with the springs I wouldn't hit my kneecap as much on the "snap". Hmmm, I'll have to try sans springs again.
  15. I'd without hesitation take them up on the offer for the free springs. You can easily remove them later if you don't like them. I'll have to dissent with Carl's view, I think the springs are useful. They make kickturns easier and I've never noticed the additional resistance. I only have one spring in each binding. YMMV. Note that a Fritschi w/o spring does not pivot like a Dyanfit as the Fritschi's pivot is infront of the toe.
  16. All of the above. Plus I bought new skis today, they are green and sexy. Last Saturday I skied in the sun. Does that count?
  17. I thought this would be appropriate to bump. What kind of complaint email should we send to George Taylor?
  18. My former girlfriend's mother once told me this joke: There are three guys sitting a bar: a Texan, a Californian and an Oregonian. The Texan orders a beer, drinks it, throw the glass up in the air, shoots the glass and says, "In Texas we have a lot of beer". The Californian orders a glass wine, drink the wine, throws the glass up in the air, shoots it and says in, "In California we have a lot of wine". The Oregonian orders a Strawberry smoothie, drinks the smoothie, throws the glass up in the air, shots the Californian then says, "In Oregon we got a lot of Californians". (btw, I'm from California myself)
  19. All our storms are going towards California.
  20. Where at? Last year the "fever" was about as enjoyable as getting your teeth drilled. I did get some 2 for 1 vouchers but they all had heavy restrictions and I never used them.
  21. ROFL. She's quite funny!
  22. I'd love to hear Girl Blog's solution to stablizing Iraq.
  23. After I finish work today I'm going to go buy a snowpark permit. That'll please him, right?
  24. I have studless (I'm not a stud! [don't tell Kasha]) snowtires, Bridgestone Winter Duelers which are the small-truck/SUV version of Bridgestone Blizzaks. I've read they perform very similar to studded tires. They work good enough for me to have purchased another set, though some don't like them claiming on dry streets they feel like driving on jello, and they don't last long for the price. These issues may be more noticeable with the Blizzaks then the Duelers. The set I recently purchased I got from tirerack.com. W/ shipping and eventual installation (haven't installed them yet) I'll end up paying $150 less then had I purchased them locally. Even if you don't purchase tires from them, tirerack.com is a good resource (if you can filter out their marketing) for snowtire reviews and comparisons. http://www.tirerack.com/ Oh and to answer your question: if you're just getting out every few wkends to climb you're probably not going to be driving in inclement weather like skiers would be so chains would be sufficient. The type cj001f recommend are good as well as the real chains that you have to drive over to install. Don't get the cables. They’re super easy to install but I've broken several sets of these (and that was with a small car). Edit to add: Will installing my snowtires now please Ullr?
