  1. What did you end up paying for it? You could at least get the money back as a reward if someone claims it, if not than you scored!
  2. Yea, but now the birds back to make all that noise. How can you stand it.
  3. Hey! Right on! Excellent work out for the day!
  4. You really want to go.
  5. Hey Lowell, Last (last) weekend, we were up on Mt. Maude via the Carne Mountain route. We watched a small puff of smoke across Phelps Creek grow throughout the day. Start as a small puff which looked like a cloud lingering. By the end of the day, it was smokin! Coming out Leroy creek, we could hear the choppers runnin' back and forth. They had dropped people off to put it out. Can't figure out how it started other than lighting, it was high on the ridge and the weather was good the day before.
  6. Just as a cat, I have never seen a dead bird perched in a tree. You'll get the spurs, climb the tree and by the time you get to the top you'll have flushed it out. Then, you'll be stuck up there. I think the dry icing technique was a better idea. Have fun Catbirdseat. Hmm...... this catbirdseat is all starting to make sense.
  7. Hey Rod, Already done Redoubt/Spickard. Fury too. Terror I have not done yet. How did your Robson climb go?
  8. Yeah, that wanker is going on Friday. I can't join in cuz I have this funny little thing called a job. No job means many days of climbing. Some of us have the right idea. We'll off to the Tetons...............
  9. Get your hands on Classic Crack. Excellent climb and you could belay from the bumper of your car.
  10. What's your collar good for if you don't have a leash?!! WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!!
  11. Catbirdseat talks that place up. He's lookin to head out there again real soon.
  12. You must not have been intrested in climbing when you were out here. If you are seriously going to be in the area and want to climb, I can point you in the right direction. Coming back to visit the family in nortwestern Minnesota. My only plans are to head east and bag Minnesota's highpoint Eagle Mountain. Just a hike but another one to check off my list. Yes, interests have changed. No more hanging out on the beaches drinking beer and waterskiing after a hangover.
  13. I just realized the back cover for the 6th ed (and maybe others) is a climb here in Minnesota. Phantom crack, Palisade head (I believe). As a long time native of Minnesota and now living in Washington State, I couldn't think of climbing anything back in Minnesota. Please inform me, I am coming east next month. Biggest Mountie? We'll leave that question unanswered.
  14. Them's Fight'n Words
  15. Hey, what happened to the West Ridge of Stuart?
  16. Don't be cheap, buy one with a leash already attached.
  17. No, Been dThere, done dThat. Just had to walk up my last 9000ft peak in the state: Maude.
  18. 8=) Suck it Toast! Your turn Toast!
  19. Heck, Just camp at the Whitney Portal. 9000ft and all the beer you can drink.
  20. Hmmmm..................... That's why you left a message on my voicemail. Sorry Catbirdseat, I left Thursday night to bag Maude. Should have called me sooner. I have a excellent sketch of the route but I normally try not to make things to easy for you. Hope you got your beta.
  21. What? That seems pretty odd. I thought REI only carried two tools, the BD overpriced-whatever-of-the-month, and the Moser XXXar equivalent... I always thought it was funny that the company that claimed "It all started with an ice axe..." only stocked two alpine axes for nearly a decade... -t I bought them at the old Redmond REI. That was the only REI that had them. Kind of strange.
  22. Treking poles left at the Phelps Creek TH. I have them. Send me a PM.
  23. Right on! I bought both my Simond Piranhas on sale at REI a few years ago. A couple of weeks later they were selling out the attachments so I bought what they had left at 50 cents a piece. Excellent Tools!
  24. Are these Pub things on a schedule? This is too soon. I have tickets to Aquasox game tonight.
  25. I'd tell you to go out and buy a pair of Scarpa Eigers but that was the biggest mistake Scarpa ever made was to discontinue the boot. By far the best boot that was ever on the market. I burn the rubber on them about every other year and Dave Page down in Fremont is always happy to re-sole them.
