  1. I think it is Dingford Creek that are those falls. what is that hiking trail like and where does it go? Thanks again
  2. Ok this Thursday (the only day I can ride) we can pull off a ride this week. We can meet at my place at 6 and do the Mercer loop or Alki, then have beers afterwards. PM me for directions. Hopefully the weather is as good as it was last night. Went out last night and did a nice 43 mile spin around the south end of Lake Washington with my roommate. It was nice to just sit behind her wheel get some blood flowing to my tired legs. She was siked to that I wasn't way off in front.
  3. More details I guess my friends are quite fit, both mountain bike race could be on or off trail, just looking for a nice scenic hike. A recon for peaks and/or possible climbs would be cool too, just for myself later. Also just looking for a day hike. Planning on camping out up there, but would prefer to keep the camping to car camping. So Catbirdseat, this Taylor River trail does it just follow along the river or climb a mountain? What type of scenic amenities does it have? Anyone do the hike that leaves the Middle Fork past Garfield, where the road crosses some falls (forget the name) that have cut through granite? Where does it go? Thanks so far.
  4. It's ok Jon being as I am a fag and all I'll take care of you.
  5. I have some friends coming into town in July and was interested in finding a nice hike in the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie area. Any suggestions? Please hikes only, I would love to take them climbing, but I think they would rather shoot themselves than to attempt to climb.
  6. Tim if you are still out there and haven't done it you should hop on Modern Times. Damn talk about roof, it's only a 5.8++, and it's one of my Gunks favorites. It is to the left of High E. I have to agree with you Index and the Gunks, but if I had to choose only one it would be the Gunks. There is more climbs, it almost purely trad, and you got a cool little college town down below, with lots of cute girls around.
  7. Nope, no beer bottles or cans lying around.
  8. Went crawling around in mud and tight constrictions underground on Saturday. Sunday went and climb E Wilman's Spire. Long approach to a short scramble to the summit. The view was awesome up there. Anyone go back there and do any ice? There a some hugh water falls back there that are porbably to steep to hold snow. One fall in particular was maybe 150 foot free drop, I know it probably doesn't get cold enough here for a 150 foot detached column to form, but there are a ton of other falls that could form. Also that area look like it would make for some killer spring boarding. There were steep narrow chutes all over the place. Anyone ever do any boarding or skiing back there?
  9. Hey Snugtop, from the descriptions that I have read, I think that second cave that I started down was Hellhole, I don't know the name of it. Hellhole opens up in the ceiling of a chamber to a free hanging rap. The rap we did wasn't really free hanging. Kudos Thinker, caves have a very fragile eco-system, it is important that we disturb the area as little as possible when going under ground. Dru, yeah I don't know if I agree with you, you damn troller. I have found caving at times to be more strenuous than climbing and there are some caves that have 1000's of feet of vertical relief. There was on I was in Mexico, that most likely hadn't been expored. I was like 200 feet down this chimney to a floor, which looked solid. I step onto the dirt and it collapsed under my feet. Luckily the cave was still quite narrow and I was able to get into a stem. The caves that we went into this weekend only go down something like ~250 feet. Snugtop, Virginia Slim menthol??? What?
  10. Nice, thanks for the picture Dru. Hey are you heading up there soon? Hence recon pictures.
  11. Hey somebody is looking for an epic anyone got any beta for him.
  12. That shit is here in Cle Elum? I could care less about the game I wouldn't mind some Red River type bolt clipping if it is so.
  13. lancegranite, this is the biggest example of the pussification of men in America. You make me fucking sick. You probably drive a minivan and carry a "man-purse", too. Women "put up with" our antics??? Is that how low you think of yourself? Guys like you make me shake my head in sadness. Grow some balls and stand up for yourself. This coming from a clog wearing, gun toting, Metallica listening real man. You don't know me. I've been through my own shit and seen enough to know what I'm talking about. Damn dude take a pill. We've been through our own shit some rise from the shit a little differently than others.

  16. I am good for about 3-4 tries, then I say fuck and move on to something else. I have never been into projecting any thing. I find it sort of like banging your head against the wall and occasionally getting something out of it, but most of the time just frustration.
  17. Alright Dave, Scott, Ben you guys have talked about road riding so what's up.
  18. I will, but I might not be able to get out of here until 4 back in Seattle at 4:30 just so you know.
  19. Hey anyone up for doing a Mercer Island road ride tonight? Leave by the north end of Myrtle Edwards park around 6, cut across town to the 90 bike path, loop Mercer, back across 90 to Lake Washington Blvd, to the UW, back on the Burke, to the start. Or we could meet up at my place and chill afterward with some cold ones and fire up the grill for some eats and check out out Rainer in the fading light (I got an awesome view). Moderate pace 15-18 average mph.
  20. Cman, I might be interested, but I want to go on a road ride. If I don't find any one that is interested in that I will go for some bolt clipping.
  21. A lot of shit talking on this thread. Come on folks, shit happen whether you are on a mountain or not, whether you have tight schedule cause you are out of town or a local, whether it is bluebird day or storming. Please let's not turn this into a spray thread, it could be you that is up there next or on some other mountain. It is plain and simple there is some folks from the climbing community up on the mountain that are in trouble, and some dead. Let's hope that ones that are alive, stay alive and make it out ok back to their friends and family.
  22. Dude I have had #1 nuts hold fall. Just gotta know what is a good placement and what is not worth a shit. Though falling on the tinys is not something I strive to do often. Also never have fallen on a knotted sling, but have done plenty of rappels from them.
  23. It is not a pedaling bike it is meant to be hucked, so it is designed short with a long top tube 22 inches. Put it this way I am 5'11" and it fits.
  24. I feel saved eveytime I have a piece of ass.
