  1. I have. Though I probably could have continued climbing the route in the condition it was in. I noticed it after having a hard time getting it to stick. Why wait to change out your pick out if carry a pick and key in your pack? I have never wanted to lug a spare tool on a climb, it is much easier and lighter to have a spare pick.
  2. Bumping this for some winter stoke!!! Oh yeah notes to self: 1. Don't go down the south side. 2. Have friends and family wait an extra day before calling in the calvary. 3. If anything happens expect the media to the get the story all fugged up.
  3. Everywhere I have gone in NM there has always been great mountain biking.
  4. What does that have to do with anything?
  5. I think the same thing about my daughter Simone. I don't know if your daughter is the cutest thing (since that is reserved for Simone), but I would agree she is pretty damn cute. The hats she has are great.
  6. I decided a long time ago that they suck sweaty donkey nutz!
  7. Come on cold. I hope it is cold and wintery wonderland this year. I will be back for about 3 month and want to get some ice and snowboarding fixes.
  8. It was fun in a sick way. This was before clipless pedal, there was many nights I would roll into town exhausted and forget that I was strapped in. Inevitably I would get stuck at a light and fall over.
  9. If you are serious rider then I would suggest getting some winter shoes that accomadate more socks, but even with more socks it might not help keep your feet warm. I used to commute 20 miles one way when I was living in Maine, I worked second shift and it could get quite cold at midnight. I used Neoprene socks similar to the one that you are buying they work pretty good, if you allow your feet to warm them up before riding and use a wind barrier bootie. Cycling draw a lot of blood to your legs that are working at the sacrifice of circulation at the extremites. Even though I would be bundled up, I would still have cold hands, arms, feet and butt on cold rides. Luckily for me though I am not thermally challenged.
  10. Scissors - Slipknot, I don't think there are any lyrics on this just good grinding drums, bass and guitars. I use to listen them a lot prior to doing DH races. People = Shit - Slipknot, another good one that would get me wound up. Die, Die My Darling - Misfits, classic punk, somewhat appropiate. Prepare For War - Hatebreed, again Hatebreed is another band I would listen to get pumped for DH race. "I have yet begun to fight, there is no fear in my heart". I Don't Care About You - FEAR, classic fuck off type punk song. "I Don't Care About You" Down on South Street Philadelphia, Out from Avenue C, I seen it in the eyes it was ready to freeze from the valley hotel! I don't care about you! Fuck you! I don't care about you! Fuck you! I see Hollywood boulevard, welfare hotel, I spent the night in jail, near the Wicox hotel! I don't care about you! Fuck you! I don't care about you! I've seen an old man have a heart attack in Manhattan. Well he just died while we just stood there lookin' at him. Ain't he cute? I don't care about you! Ohhhhhhhhh! I don't care about you! I see man rollin' drunks, bodies the streets. Some man was sleepin' in puke and a man with no legs crawling down 5th street trying to get something to eat! I don't care about you! Oh noooooo!! I don't care about you! Fuck you! I don't care about you! Hey! Hey! I don't care about you!
  11. Yeah Great Head is really a lot of fun with some good exposure for as short as it is, definitely check the tide charts before going. Whenever I have climbed there it is always with some urgency due to the fact waves are lapping you feet. I forget the name of the route, but facing the cliff on the left is a beautiful steep 10b (or 10d I can't remember), but it can be climb almost any time. As much as I love the PNW, I sure do miss Maine and NH sometimes.
  12. Hell yeah nice report. Awesome to see my old stomping grounds. I spent many summers and winters going up to Baxter state park. Also spent a lot more time in Acadia. The climbing there is a lot of fun and super scenic, especially at the Precipice. I spent many summer days cragging there and winding down the day with bottle of wine, bagette and cheese on top of the cliff overlooking the Alantic ocean. Did you get on the Gargoyle on the Bubbles, fun? Jordan pond definitely makes the best popovers I have ever had.
  13. I never unstood running with your bike. I, myself prefer riding. That said I would really like a cross-bike (or a 29er) for riding all the dirt roads through out the country side here.
  14. So are they still using metal these days? I thought they now have screws that disolve over several years and are replace by bone as they disolve. Maybe they are not used for breaks?
  15. So these days we are not uncaging our souls, but releasing our inner warrior. hmm, damn it just when I am getting the hang of something it gets changed. I generally stay away from x routes; and I guess I have never seen a y or z route. Those must be scary as hell.
  16. Simone just started walking about 4 weeks ago, now that is all she does. It keeps us busy for sure. I think she tires herself out too. Yesterday she took a 1.5 hour nap in the morning then went to bed at 4pm and didn't wake up until 6:30am. Freaking 14.5 hours of straight sleep. It sort of freaks me out sometimes that she can sleep so long.
  17. You are obivously not living in Africa. It is all about stems and seeds here, but I ain't going to start complaining especially since I get little paper bag rolled up nuggets of weed for $0.20 a pop. (basicallly an 1/8 for $1)
  18. Hell that is fun even when you are not stoned....step.....shake....step....shake....though I always feel like a mean bastard afterwards.
  19. Who needs the other 10 when you have the 11th.
  20. You told me it was a great place for guys like you - douchebag Ouch, you hurt my feelings you big mean LL Bean wearing machine.
  21. If you can't figure out how to use a Gri-gri, then you probably have difficulty learning how to belay. There is more than one way to skin a cat, just like there are many ways to belay. The more methods you know the better off you are. Then you are able to choose which method may be most appropiate for a given situation. The situation/accident you described was not caused by the device, but by the inexperience that the belayer had. Given a different device, yeah this person may have been able to stop a fall or they may not have, it is all speculation. Dropped and fall not stopped using all kinds of different devices.
  22. From the sounds of it glove could help your gf from burning her hands again, but they are not going to help you from decking. She recieved rope burns because the rope was passing through her hands when she grab hold of the rope and locked off. I would second checking hold before pulling on them, especially if there was a concern about the childeren being hit by rock fall. Granted it was sport climbing in popular and well traveled area, but tuft is not really known for being the most solid rock out there.
  23. It's more like wtf are you doing ordering ghey ass crap from that place?
