  1. A lot less toxic for yourself, cheaper and not fixed in place alternative would be buy a bag or two of footies. They are quite cheap, a bag is like $20. When they get super polished you can just get rid of them. Also I install them on my bigger sloper holds to modify lager hold, especially when I adjust my wall to make it steeper. I also use them to block larger jugs to make them more difficult to grab. Working with resin is just messy and will stay stinky for quite a while after applying.

    Iraq

I remember meeting you before, and you seemed to be a pretty reasonable and likeable person. Reading through your posts, made me reassess what I originally thought of you. As for reasonable, I definitely don't think that now, it sounds you have your views and that's that. You definitely can seem to see a big picture and understand not everyone has the same beliefs you have. Definitely don't sound like a likeable person ranting raving about all kinds of craps, throwing fuel into the fire and jumping to conclusions. What is all this crap about Darfur, chickenshit name calling, God complex, damn dude you sound like a raving lunatic. BTW-As far as being bold cause I am thousands of miles away, yes I am thousands of miles away, but not in the direction of the States. I happen to live in Rwanda where my days are spent working with people, trying to build infrastructure in health service provided. Yeah my paycheck doesn't go to Darfur, but it is smaller than it was in the states. As far my percentage my time spent on a cause it has been almost every freaking day for the last 3 and a half years.
  3. That is freaking crazy, same sort of stuff goes on around here. There are bulldozer around, but a lot of time it is cheaper to use manual labor, than it is bring the bulldozer to site and operate it. The one job that drives me crazy is the gravel making, that has to be the worst job ever sitting with a big making small rocks with a hammer.
  4. Anyone been there? There is a chance we might end up there, only thing I know is that I will considerably closer to Nepal and Tibet. The other thing is if sea levels rise one meter it will put 50% of the country underwater. Besides that I know very little of that country

Scott, regardless of political views and supporting the war/occupation in Iraq, you come accross as a real confrontational asshole. I can't believe I wasted some time looking at this shit.

    I am the idiot

Then you better say your sorry.
  7. Hell why do people do a lot of things? Cause we can. All it is another form of body modification, which manifests itself in many ways from simple stuff from hair styles, wearing make-up, earings, whatever to more extreme things like this. I say go for it if not really hurting others. I don't particularly like titties that big, but I do find them interesting in freakish way.

    Methow Mt. Biking

You should try looking at MTBR trail forum, there is generally quite a few good rides in Washington listed on it.

  11. Just got back, i'll post some pictures later once I get them on the computer. So I just thought I would add some other stuff to all of the good information that was put on this thread. Bangkok: Getting around. Taxi's are cheap, definitely have to request the use of the meter. I found the taxis were also cheaper to get around especially with multipule people than tuk-tuks, boats and rail. Public non-aircon buses were the cheapest. Sights. The Palace was pretty damn cool. There is a changing room there so you don't have to wear long sleaves and long pants all day long. The temples were also very cool too, very ornate and beautiful. Very neat architecture. The Thai history museum was interesting and super cheap. Chatuchak market was cool too, not as interesting and lively as the african markets, but way more interesting things to buy. The Night Bizare was similar to Chatuchak market in case you are not there during the weekend. Open every night at 7pm. A little more expensive though. Khoa San road is somewhat like Rob described. If I was young dumb and full of cum, I guess it would be fun, lots of backpackers, the rich were more in the area I was staying at. In Sukhumvit, where I was staying is where there are some crazy large malls. I found it somewhat interesting, they were just so fucking huge, it was crazy. Good food can be found everywhere. Good street food even in the nicest parts of town. Safety Probably way safer than most US cities. There are police and security everywhere. I never saw single person being stopped or arrested by police or security at any point during my trip. Flight to Krabi: It cost us $300 for both of us and little Simone round trip on Asia Air. Krabi to Railay. You can get to Railay for easily under 400 Baht if you do it cheap. We arranged it through our hotel and the transfer cost us 1500 Baht. Somewhat expensive, but that was both of us, we got the guy out there with the sign, aircon van with bottled water and boat to Railay. Railay/Tonsai. We stayed at the Raily Beach resort, nice not too expesive. Most climbers are at Tonsai and cheap places could be found there I met some guys who were living off of 300 Baht a day for meals, lodging and beer (off-season). Checking out the penisula, I think it would be pretty easy to dirt bag is there and find a place to camp in the forest or in a cave. The little climbing I did was a lot of fun, not as polished as I thought it would be. I wouldn't get a guide if at all possible, most that I saw were more interested in talking with their buddies than helping their clients get on/up routes. Plenty of people to hook up with even in low season. The lagoon was super cool, I ended up spending about 3 hours in there chillin'. Thanks, everybody.
  12. I don't like tag lines either, I would rather use twins or doubles set-up. Not that much weight is saved by using a tag line. Blakes suggestion on rapping is how I have used tag line, using that method to go down to a 5mm tag any thinner and it becomes to hard to pull.
  13. What the hell is wrong with you Layton, you like 3.2 shit beer???? That is the first time I have ever heard anybody say that one. SLC- granite, skiing, city life, moderate temps Moab- sandstone, great mountain biking, town life, hotter than hell in the summer. I think if I had to choose, it would be SLC, just cause it gets to hot for me in Moab during the summer.
  14. That was rad, definitely pretty extreme looking getting pummeled from above. I was surprised to see how wide the Pencil was. I always looked up at that thing and it looks like a pencil from the road. Good work on the climb and vid.
  15. Funny story: I had one of those almost 30 years ago, as a young lad fresh out of high school, back in my Dirty Harry days... The first time I took it out to shoot it, I struck a "Go ahead... Make my day" pose, complete with the hoarse whisper and Clint Squint. Pointing the weapon at the intended target with but a single hand, at arms length, a la Clint, I let fly with a slug. Goddamned thing whollopped me with the hammer. Left a big dent in the middle of my forehead that took weeks to heal. After that experieince, I always kept both hands on the wheel... Yeah that doesn't always work.
  16. I was thinking of these two things as well.
  17. Funny you should say that A...that is one of the things keeping me from squeezing the trigger...the other one is this damn "guilt" shit...everytime i get serious about it, i read about food shortages, talk to a bum, blah blah blah... seriously, my company would take me back...its an awesome company, my fellow staff absolutely rock, my boss is really solid and respectable, the projects are world class...i'm just siiiiiick of it...i feel so bad about not liking it anymore... this is why i haven't bothered to look at other firms...i don't think i can beat this one...or my job...i just don't want do it anymore... Dude sounds like you are in a perfect situation to take a sabatical. At the very least the time taken can be enjoyed spending more time with the kids, getting some climbing in and assessing if this job/career that you have is something you want to keep. When I first moved to Seattle I wasn't to sure if I wanted to stay in the same career, and gave myself plenty of time find out if it was something I wanted to continue doing or not. At this time in my life it was after a divorce and I needed some serious recharging of the batteries. I moved to Seattle with no job prospects. In the end I decided to keep the same career and enjoyed 7 months of bliss and settling into the Seattle area. Towards the end I was eager to get back to work mainly because my arms and shoulders were so damn tired from all the climbing I was doing, but I also found that I had a renewed interest in my work. Basically life is a ride, you better enjoying the ride just in case you don't make it to your destination. Sounds like your employer might be understanding, I would at least approach them to see if they would accepting of unpaid leave, especially since you are contemplating it. There reaction will give you indication whether or not that would be feasible. An other option to consider is to talk to them about going part time for a period of time, it might be all you need is to take a little time for yourself every week. I know every week I have my time I always have to take where I am free from work and family. If I don't take that I don't make a good employee, husband or father.
  18. So fenderfour it wasn't your turn to puke out the window on this trip. Counterfiet, you should take a lessons from the out-the-window-puker-master. On his trip out visiting, not a drop of Mutzig puke ended up on the side of my car.
  19. The two times I have been there I mainly climbed and hiked in approach shoes Montrail D7 and 5.10. There is not that much talus hoping to warrant having hiking boots.
  20. Yeah man that awesome! I always wanted to climb Da Toof at night when I was living in Seattle. Over here Wednesday nights is my night to ride. Pretty much put my daughter to sleep around 8pm and then hit the trails. It not an all night event, though still it is a way of getting one more day of adventure during the week.
  21. Damn I got to get myself back to the states some time, it is really a beautiful country. Thanks man.
  22. God damn I love Gunks climbing! I gotta get back out there. Did you get on that route when you were there? I remeber right where this dude is my feet cutting out and swinging onto my arms and thinking, 'this is 5.8?'.
  23. Sweet thanks again. I heard about the penis cave, sounds funny. Good to know about the monkeys, Simone will be on the look out for sure. She is for some reason terrified of monkeys. The other day we were at a resturant that has a monkey and she didn't want to get near it at all. It was like carrying a cat above water, the claws were dug in deep.
  24. Again thanks thanks and thanks. It has been sort of hectic putting this trip together at the last minute, but not too bad considering half of the trip is paid for and already planned. It looks like we are going to splurge while we are in Thailand and stay at the Railay Spa & Resort, especially considering that it is one of the nicer places but still reasonable at $65 a night. So Rob the chatuchak market happen on Sunday, cause that will be the only day we will be able to make it? Also where is it? I sure I could probably ask anyone there and they will though. The floating market is another place I want to go for sure as well. Thanks for the dress code info on the Grand Palace, I wanted to go there originally I wasn't planning on bringing anything but flip-flops and shorts, I guess I will throw in a pair of pants and shoes. I definitely want to spend more time climbing than diving. I am not a diver at all, I thought I might try it though, but I probably won't, Misti is the one that is into diving and actually learned to dive there quite while ago. Got any suggestions on where to go for some bouldering when Misti is diving? I will have Simone with me so it would need to be some place where she can play without getting into too much trouble. Hey ckplanet is PraNang within walking of Railay or do you need to get there by boat? Anyone know what mozzies are? I am asuming mosquitos, but never heard them called that. I have seen several posts that they are out feircely at night. So it sounds like the usual stuff to watch out for. Living in Africa for the last three years I have become aware many different types of scams and thievery, so it sounds like it will be no problem. I can't wait to pack my bags.
  25. I guess one other question I have is any safety issues in Bangkok. I know how to handle my self in tough cities and have had no problem when I am in Nairobi or Johanesburg which are supposedly some of the most dangerous cities out there. I imagine Railay being the destination that it is, that it quite safe there. I am far from being paranoid or anything like that I just like to know what to watch out for.
